I understand that Candice is afraid of the idol. Were the others? No. To me, the fear of being pagonged > the fear of a HII being played in one round early in the merge. I know Candice was in self-preservation mode, and chances are it was way more complex than it appeared on TV. People are complaining about her being a dumb player for her move but I believe it was the best thing for her to do.
