Well, it depends what you are referring to, gameplay, actions, or something else?
An action I was surprised by was early on - wakiza's inactivity. I expected him to come in and play great. We never got to see that.
Another time I was shocked was when Aron made it unnommed. It was difficult for me to see gameplay other than the noms and the few individuals who discussed their games with me. I didn't expect someone to be able to go unnommed in such a high-status game with even more opportunities to get nommed due to the tie rule. But he did it, and that has to be appreciated regardless of whether or not he won.
You did shock me. It was your drama that shocked me, but of course it made great fun for everyone. I know I enjoyed it lol. It was missed by me once you were gone.
By the way, congrats on going unnommed. Its a hell of a feat. Good luck in finals my friend :)

Because Anas and ak73 are immensely popular individuals. Anas also played the public very well, and we haven’t seen someone genuinely play the public aspect of Stars in a while simply because multis have made such an aspect obsolete. So, I think that’s what it is. Aaron played an excellent game, but he was thrown into a finals poll with very popular people.

Since you asked me a question I’ll support you. But more broadly, I am supporting a lot of the older users. My top support probably goes to temponeptune though. We are in similar positions in Stars.
We’ve both gone unnommed twice and lost, we’ve made a total of 11 finals, with no wins.

For the record, casting will be conducted differently each game. So if you weren’t ranked highly here, that doesn’t mean you won’t be in a future casting (if there are other games, that is).
It’s hard to give a rank, as ther and were about 100 applicants. But, every applicant was ranked by a point system. You can go look at that at my casting process blog.

Honestly we thought the $Ts were a good prize. I attempted to change the prizes midway through (check the group for Players Rule Determination #2). Admin rejected the change though. Instead, I’ll just gift 1st-3rd myself.

I think it was a success. There were a few minor bumps, but for the most part, it did what it set out to do. It generated interest for the public, it felt like a real Stars to the players, and its twist only amplified its success.
