He's playing a underestimated game in my opinion. He's sticking with Lisa, which I don't think is all that bad. Lisa has proven to shoot herself in the foot once and likely will do it again on the next episode, being sort of a barrier between Skupin going home. Overall though I like his personality-- when he saw his son, and especially him obviously just going along with the "prayer" lead by Lisa. Did anyone else notice he had his eyes open? I liked it.
