*END OF SEASON REVIEW*
Let's do this uwu
------------------------
PROS
The characters were not entirely interesting as a whole, but it was still a solid cast. I didn't care for my own character, but beyond that, there were plenty of standouts, like Brenda, Rain Boy or the mastermind Ai (bless her heart and soul). Also loved the contrast between this fairly wholesome cast and the largely fucked-in-the-head season one cast.

I find the concept behind the multiple themed sections to be really interesting. Each section was distinct and unique, and I enjoyed reading to see how each location varied. Some places got more attention than others from the players, but that's not the fault of the locations. Great theming, fun locations, an overall really nice setting.
-
Of course, it's a Danganronpa, it has all the standard Danganronpa features, and it did them all well. Lots of fun trials, executions were well-written, good evidence, the works. It does everything that a Danganronpa needs to do, and it passes with flying colors.
CONS
The villains, the Four, the Stiffs. They're too shitty of people to really be sympathetic, but considering we just spent a whole season with them a few months ago, learning about their lives and their goals and such, they're not hateable enough to actively root against. I thought the idea of using random innocents from one season as villains in another was novel in concept, but I don't think it works in practice, even if you take more sympathetic characters like Rin or Brenda. It's senseless tragedy, I get that's supposed to be the point, but it just... really doesn't work for me. I don't know if Rin or Brenda's players got informed that they would be converted to the villain faction or not, but if this is done again in the future, I hope they at least are.

The Four's banter at trials and motives was mildly annoying. Probably the point, I know, and I got better at zoning it out as the season progressed, but it doesn't change the fact that they were largely a nuisance whose jokes mostly just revolved around them physically and verbally abusing each other, which made me uncomfortable at points.

I don't feel like this season really embraced the 90s theme like it could have, outside of the troll dolls. It definitely feels like it could have been set in the 2020s at some points.
OVERALL
If I had to give this a numerical score, it'd probably be a 6 or a 7 out of 10, leaning more toward 7. There were major problems I had with it, but it was overall a *good* season. Not great, I would not call it great, but I think it was good. Here's to a better (or at least on par) season 3.
