Photoshoot #7

"Dystopian"

Hello guys and welcome to your seventh photoshoot, for today we are talking about young adult dystopian novels turned movie, more specifically - The Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent and Shadowhunters (TV series). So, what's dystopia? an imaginary place where people lead dehumanized and often fearful live.

Now, for your photoshoot this week - we are to go on to another portrayal. Each of you will be given two choices of characters from different novels, and what you will do is to pick one from the two characters given to you, and portray them.

NOTE: You are to portray not the book characteristics, but the Movie adaptation of the three (The Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent) and the TV Series (Shadowhunters). Also provide a photo of your inspiration (character) - deductions would be given to those who wouldn't provide.

Explanation is highly necessary, 24 hours to do the shoot. Goodluck!

For my photoshoot this week, I was inspired by Tobias Eaton from the Divergent series. Specifically, I modeled my photo after Tobias' and Tris' relationship. Although Tobias has an elusive, mysterious personality towards most and it takes a while for him to allow himself to become close to others, he is VERY protective of his loved ones - specifically Tris. As Tobias and Tris' relationship deepened, Tobias eventually understood that he has someone in his life that he doesn't want to lose, and Tris dying becomes a fear for him.

As such, I'm grabbing onto my model partner and want to serve as a protector for her. Additionally, her head is comfortably rested on my shoulder, and she knows that when I'm around, she has nothing to worry about. She is my queen and I couldn't picture my life without her, just as Tobias couldn't imagine a life with Tris.

Jourdan Dunn

This was a very hard photoshoot for me. I got my inspiration from Katniss' photo because she is very brave and proud of herself that she could win the hunger games for her district. It takes a lot of courage to step up and volunteer to be in the hunger games and she showed true bravery. My photo correlates to katiness' because like I said she is very brave and she stand tall and proud. I am showing you bravery by being naked and showing of my body. This shows courage and Jourdan is very proud of her body and herself for stepping outside of her comfort zone and doing something not many people want to do. I hope you judges can see where I am coming from.

I think this was a very tough challenge, but I ultimately Peeta is very bold and hardworking and courageous character. I think this photo of Arthur shows just that, Arthur’s very bold and hardworking as you can see in this shot.

Simon in Shadowhunter, Prior to his life being changed by the Shadowhunter World, Simon was an open geek and the bass player of a garage band. Before loosing his need for his glasses once he became a Vampire Simon wore his “Geeky” glasses and wore more casual clothing. Simon was very courageous but struggled a bit when transforming from human into a vampire.

Minho are the BOSS of acampment, he always have the last word. He is aggressive, but loyal, and often, is sarcastic. Minho always lead the group and do the job as father. For my shot, i'm representing his posture as the BOSS who is always right and can lead the others.

My inspiration came from one of my favourite characters from The Maze Runner, Newt! I wanted to focus on Newt’s face and how throughout the film he portrayed several strong and powerful facial expressions! I wanted to explore the face over body and wanted to show that Newt and I can both make a fierce face look sexy and powerful!

I tried to do something a bit risky for this week. Romee and Tris do not have a single thing in common, other than something very minor that I managed to pick up on that was evident in nearly most of their pictures. Both girls have very mesmerizing eyes that tell a story. In Tris' picture, you can clearly see that her eyes hold such a mysterious vibe, that seduces you into wanting more from her. Her eyes are very innocent-looking. Romee shares the same trait. Her eyes, although, not as innocent-looking as Tris', still tell a story, and they captivate anyone who looks deep into them.

Both girls are extremely different in various ways. But the one distinct thing they share in common speaks louder than words, and it can only be picked up on if looked at by a closer perspective.

Eyes are the window to one's soul. In both pictures, you can sense the fear in both girls' eyes.

My photoshoot represents one of Katniss' love interests within the world of panem aka Gale. Gale was a central character during the hunger games movies as he helped save some of the people of district 12 at the beginning of Mockingjay as President snow launched an all out war on district 12 because of Katniss starting another revolution in which she won. Gale in my opinion is technically a hero and so was Thomas from maze runner but I felt Gale was a better choice due to eye color, hairstyle and fashion choice. In the divergent series, Eric is a leader of Dauntless. He expects maximum effort and perfection from his troops while using unorthodox methods to train them. He embodied the true definition of Dauntless, meaning fearless and determined. I tried to capture those characteristics in my photo. My clothing represents the style of the Dauntless faction while my face. In my eyes, Eric isn't a bad guy, just a tough leader. That is why I went for a less intense look.

In this week's photoshoot, we had to be inspired by utopian world characters. I'm a big fan of these, although I have not seen Shadowhunters. For that reason, I have decided to face the photo towards the character of Finnick, of The Hunger Games.

I have decided to take a chance, although I do not know if it will be enough to stay, since there is a lot of level.
In this photo, I have decided to represent the aura and where and how Finnick was at that moment. He has a feeling of uncertainty and concern about what will come and it is his facial expression and face that stands out the most.

In addition, his body, hair and others are wet due to a fight near the puddles that were in the forest, and this is also how Kit is in the photo.
In short, it is quite risky and it was quite difficult to find a picture that fit perfectly with the characters that I had proposed, so I hope the judges like it.
