Here's the thing, challenge is an important aspect of the game, no challenge score would really cost you your elimination (if you haven't raised that lot of money) - and in photoshoot, it's either you lose or gain. In your case, if you actually get a lower money value than your challenge score, that means you lost some money in the shoot.
