1. Addison Rae - The fact that this qualified is still hilarious, but I’m definitely still not keen on the actual song. Incredibly basic.

2. Drew Sycamore - I didn’t remember this, and after relistening I can kind of see why. It’s not bad, but it just doesn’t feel very impactful now. There’s not really any one moment that grabs me and makes me want to hear this again.

3. KIRA - This would make really nice music to put on in the background while doing something else, but in the context of a song contest, it’s in desperate need of a climax of some sort.

4. Miya Folick - This feels kind of like a combination of my two least favorite things: MARINA and “Fingers Crossed” by Agnes. I’m in pain a little bit, unfortunately.

5. waa wei - I think this is gonna suffer from being sent immediately after the last waa wei entry, because it definitely isn’t anywhere near as good. It lacks the progression that made her other entry so enjoyable.

6. Miranda Cosgrove - You can really tell that she’s a former child star because this sounds like something that would play in a commercial for a Disney Channel original romantic comedy.

7. CHAII - This is noisy, but less in a fun, chaotic way and more in a “someone in the studio accidentally bumped the bass slider to maximum” way.

8. Alvaro de Luna - I guess I just don’t “get” this because this making it all the way to 11th is still baffling to me. I’m bored.

9. Agnes - Gasp? A good Agnes song? This actually gets the disco instrumental right, unlike her other singles, and I’m kind of living. This may be a bop actually.

10. Aly & AJ - I guess I can see why people freak out for this, but I’m definitely not the target audience here. The chorus just doesn’t do it for me.

14. Sophia Grace - You can really tell it’s almost been 5 years because a) when was the last time you heard the name Sophia Grace and b) this sounds like it crawled out of the 2015-16 dumpster. Also why is she kinda the blueprint for k-pop soloists cramming awful rap verses into songs?

15. Brave Girls - I think I heard this like once or twice when Rollin went viral and wasn’t crazy about it, but this is incredible? It combines the best parts of the kpop retro craze with elements of city pop and it works SO well. Iconic.

16. Corona - Why was this recorded underwater. My ears.

17. Hamzaa - STUNNING. The way this has never left my heavy rotation in the last year, it’s incredible. Beautiful vocal, incredible lyrics, I love it.

18. Kelli-Leigh - I like the pre-drop, but I’m kind of bored by the rest of the song, unfortunately. There’s potential here, but it isn’t really reached.

19. Father John Misty - Not the dollar-store Hozier. Someone get me out of here.

20. DOLLA - Oh now THIS is a good noise drop. Not as polished as some similar entries, but I think that actually works in its favor. It feels more like a lived-in home than like a real estate staging (I don’t think that metaphor makes any sense)

21. Rachel Chinouriri - Oh YES. Love the funky depth of the instrumental combined with the higher breathiness of her voice, it works so well.

1. Addison Rae - In my original comment I pretty much just said that it was a tame, generic pop tune that really doesn't have anything going for it. Listening to it again, of course I was right.
2. Drew Sycamore - Some great 80s synth elements in this, however I find the actual songwriting bit to be lacking quite a bit, especially compared to her other songs. It's better than 'Jungle', and as a whole product it's pretty decent, but I can identify why I never really replay this particular song by her.
3. 𝑲𝑰𝑹𝑨 - Think I mentioned in my original comment that this somewhat minimalist approach is what makes this song stand out. Very pretty.
4. Miya Folick - Different to what I have heard so far. I remember not being particularly fond of it during its initial run, and while I can kind of see the appeal, it's still not really for me.
5. Waa Wei - Ballads from that region really should try changing it up more often. I am listening to this as my neighbour's cat came into the living room and she LITERALLY FELL ASLEEP to this. It's that boring.
6. Miranda Cosgrove - LMAO. Most definitely a product of its time...but it's pretty pleasant as a whole, just a bit too dated for its own good.
7. CHAII - I remember hosting this and being so surprised that Steve entered this; I never immediately hated a song that he entered before that. Still not liking it, sorry </3.

13. Mitski - I did this so dirty in its original contest. My flatmate may legit play this all the time and yet I don't think I am ever gonna get bored of this song. Did its people want too much?
14. Sophia Grace - LMAO. Not really much to say about the song (or lack of), but it's kind of funny to see this entered here.
15. Brave Girls - Initially wasn't too huge on this, felt that it was a bit too safe-sounding for its own good. Fast forward one year later, this became one of the most played songs on my Spotify. So smooth yet captivating at the same time, great pick.
