So without further ado, let's dive deep into With Confidence's recently released second album, "Love and Loathing"
1.That Something
This is a very fun song. It is more poppy but that chorus is easy to get lost into. I have no problem with this song but I can see why you wouldn't like it. The music video complements the sound of the song, and I feel like it is a good song to start off the album.

2.Sing To Me
At the beginning of the song, it sounds like it'll be another fun song, with the ba ba ba, ba ba ba dadda da" at the beginning, but this song is a bit more serious. I like the mixture honestly, as it adds more depth to the song for me. A thing I like about this album is the variety of sound in the songs, and some work together. Also this isn't the first time you will hear vocals from the guitarist, Inigo, and he deserves credit because he has some pretty good vocals throughout this album. All in all, I like this song a lot. It isn't my favorite on this album, but it is still a very solid track.

3.Moving Boxes
The third and final single that was released for this album, it is a very good song. This has a lot of Inigo singing in it and this is the closest to me that resembles a song off of their first album, but in a good way. I am liking the start to this album, so far 3 solid tracks.

4.The Turnaround
They were doing so good, this song isn't necessarily bad, it is just one of those things a band will do. One or two songs in an album they will try a completely different style. Sometimes it does work, but this does not. It tries to be upbeat and friendly, but there are other songs on this album that I feel do it better.

5.Jaded
My hands down favorite song off of this album. It is very catchy, although very short, which would be my only negative of this song but that is just me being selfish. It has that "Summer" feel I think without trying. The music video is a fun one to accompany it. This is the 2nd single off of the album and very much deserved.
Fun Fact:I hated this song when I first listened to it, but I only listened to about 10 seconds of it and skipped it. That was a big mistake on my part.

6.Better
This is a fun song, the intro is very unique and got stuck into my head pretty easily. Think "The Turnaround" but actually being a good song(my bad). If you listen to the lyrics closely it isn't that cheery of a song but I think that is what makes this song good imo. I love the songs that sound cheery but have a deeper meaning. I know it isn't a very "deep" song lyrically but it is still a fun one for me.

7.Spinning
This is probably my 2nd favorite song of the album. I don't know why it connects with me, the lyrics are great. I can understand if people think it sounds too generic but this is just one of the songs that I cannot get out of my head, and it stuck from the first time I heard it.

8.Bruise
This song can hit you hard if you let it, It is definitely one of the saddest sounding songs on the album, and the Chorus is melodic. Although it doesn't come off as one of the best songs on the album, it definitely feels different from the other songs on the album and although it isn't a song that you will find yourself listening to for days on end, it is a very solid tune.

9.Plaqurette/Daises (Without Me)
This song doesn't really speak to me. I see what it tries to do, but it doesn't connect. The chorus isn't the strongest and nothing really stands out on this song besides it having a French title, which should not be the first thing you think of about the song.

10.Icarus
There is a lot of emotion in this song, and I love it. It surprised me when I first heard it, and there is a lot of rage in Jayden's voice. I believe Inigo is on this track as well, but I am not too sure if it is actually him. If you want a melodic song, this is not it. This song is probably the most aggressive sounding track on the album so this is the one song my ranking especially shouldn't mean anything to you, as this is probably more about taste than anything. I, in this case, like it. You, may not.

11.Dopamine
I think this is the best song on the album if I had to judge on lyrical content. The chorus is very nice, and this album incorporates the "woooo's and the ba ba dadda da"'s and although those are usually bad, this album incorporates them pretty well imo. This is a gem at the end of the album.

12.Tails
The end of the album and in my opinion, I think they should've ended with something else. Dopamine maybe? It isn't a bad song, it just isn't that inspiring to me. I just praised the "Oooo"s on this album and then this song, I don't think it needed them. I feel it was unnecessary. Disappointing for me. It isn't the worst song on the album, but there are a lot of better songs on the album on here.

Honestly, this album surprised me. I didn't know what was going to happen after all the controversy that happened with them late last year but they still cranked out a decent 2nd outing. If I had to give this a rating, I would give this album a 3.5. As much as I want to give them a 4 on this effort, most of the songs are good but not great. For me I had to listen back to other albums in the past that I would have easily given at least a 4, and this album came up just short.
