As a resident one-of-the-few nice members of Tengaged.com, I'm pretty against hateful comments being said against people here. Especially when I've chatted with people on both sides and seeing the hurt the victims and the inhumanity of the abusers.
But I just watched Ryan Higa's video about cyber-bullying and he said something which was pretty important.
- With online bullying, there's an escape. -
You can leave, you can filter the bullies and, heck, you could log off for a week and make a new account if you still want to be here.
And if someone is repeatedly harassing you and filtering it doesn't stop them, you can report it to Tengaged_Moderation. Or tell Diva1 so she can publicly diss them and make them cry. ;)
There are options for avoiding it with online bullying.
But when you're dealing with bullying in real life, those options aren't there. You HAVE to see these people everyday and you can't just hide. You either have to deal with it or you have to confront it.
I'm someone who dealt with it. When I tried to fight it by telling the teachers, they did nothing.
Did they think I was lying? No.
Did they know I was being bullied? Yeah, they did.
But they chose to do nothing for whatever reasons.
I just wish real bullying was dealt with better by people with the power to stop it, rather than focussing on online bullying which has a million provisions enacted already. :/ #Bullying
I'll post the NigaHiga video in the comments for those who haven't seen it.
^The NigaHiga video. :)
