In pokemon the movie:2000, Misty had her togepi in an episode in Japan, but not the U.S.A. So in the movie, people in the U.S. were like, what is that pokemon? Same thing with ash and his charizard, it was still a charmeleon, and misty didn`t get her egg until after the movie in the us.
