"You guys"

Sep 23, 2021 by TotalDramaLover1234
Is something I use in my dialect, it is the equivalent to using "hey y'all"  to me at least.

As in referring to everyone, not a specific sex or gender.

Am I being inconsiderate here? I just don't know if it's really that deep.

If someone can explain to be how it is insensitive I am open to hearing about it.

i'd say for most people they won't get offended, but I know women/nonbinary/trans folks who do not like the term. As an educator, i've been trying not to say "guys" in my vocabulary. Folks for instance is more inclusive.

I say that too so I don’t have to sound so country all the time with y’all y’all y’all.
