3pi14159: This song is very much a shot in the dark because i barely know even what synths are but i looked up songs that have synths in it and this song came up and i thought it was pretty good so thats that!

Soft Cell, nice!!! An absolutely iconic duo. Although I like Soft Cell, this isn’t their most interesting song ever. This song suffers from being way too long than it needs to be, it ends up feeling really one note and repetitive. I did really enjoy the final minute of this but it felt like a lot of unnecessary build up to get there. I do love that it sounds very comically British though. Also, maybe next time don’t tell us that you googled synths and picked one of the first things you found?

I appreciate the unexpected approach here, but I just don't really love it. It's decent, but falls short behind just a couple of other submissions. Great work on the notes though.

I’m sorry but I absolutely hated the submission this week. I normally never say that but this just felt so weak compared to the other songs and his voice was almost comically bad in my opinion. I feel like you could have picked a lot of other songs and been a lot better off. I appreciate you putting effort into this competition but it does not feel like it paid off this time. I have confidence you can bring it back! Best of luck <3

Okay there’s something really funny about this because it would’ve been an absolutely perfect submission for the theme next round, but it still works for this. This was a smashing success of a submission for me. I loved listening to this. Yes P!NK is a pretty notable artist but I feel like I haven’t heard anything from her in quite a few years. This is easily my favorite P!NK song I’ve ever listened to. Those synths and drums are phenomenal and overall the vibe of this track is simply perfect.

I will start by saying I love PINK! Her voice is incredibly powerful and I’ve always thought she was super underrated. Again, your note for me is going to remain the same. Your submission artists are typically more basic than everyone else’s in the competition, and that’s carried you thus far because the songs themselves are typically pretty good. However, that’s only going to take you so far, so I would suggest following the judges critiques and trying to find a more underground artist soon. Again, I liked the song! Just dive deeper please.

If there’s one thing Carly Rae Jepsen is gonna do, it’s make a catchy song. Those instrumentals are so groovy and Carly’s vocals are always gonna hit. That synth bassline is soooo fire. I like this a lot and I have nothing bad to say about it, I just felt like the top two submissions brought more.

I didn’t love this submission this week. Her voice didn’t really seem to have much range in this song, and there was something about the quality of it that I found almost annoying in this particular song. The chorus was catchy, but the rest of the song was a pretty big letdown for me. Coupled with the fact that Carly isn’t exactly underground, it doesn’t really fare well for your song this week. Try to remember what made your last submission shine and apply that to the future themes next round! Good luck!

RIP SOPHIE. SOPHIE is someone that I understand but could never really get into. While this song isn’t something I would ever go out of my way to listen to, there’s something very intriguing about it. After I listened to this I went back to listen to Hot Pink which was submitted a few rounds ago and was also produced by SOPHIE and I understood that song even more. I feel like this song has a very similar vibe to that song but I like this a lot less. The instrumental use is cool but it is definitely overwhelming.

I was kind of living for this at the beginning! It sounds super different and I love all of the noises together. I would have preferred more lyrics than what was given, and after a while the sounds repeated so much that it got a little boring. When the song is mostly production and instruments the whole time, the same pattern over and over doesn’t help to make the song interesting for me. When she started singing in the bridge (?) I have to say I didn’t really enjoy it. Not horrible this week but I feel like there are areas you can improve in.

I….I feel like this song hexed me. This type of music isn’t the type I would typically enjoy but I enjoyed this a lot. And when I say a lot I mean A LOT. This just sounds so ethereal and fascinating. It feels so familiar and nostalgic even though I’m certain I’ve never heard this before. I was really blown away at how much I liked this.

HER VOICE OH MY GOD. You served so hard with this for me! I absolutely love the production and her voice is beautifully ethereal, which is actually my favorite kind of voice. I don’t really have a lot of notes here because I thought this was a strong ass submission. You’ve been in your top era recently, and I’m pleasantly surprised. Keep up the great work please!
