#3 - Survivor: Brunei (June-July 2020)
Brunei was the first season we did with an odd number of people to begin the game. Absol, jayhawk123, and TheRenny, who were all "robbed pre-mergers" from old seasons, returned as tribe captains. This season got crazy right from the start, with accusations of the starting tribes (that I literally did not pick, the captains did) being rigged for a " Lemjam6 premade" flying left and right. The premerge saw the demise of big characters deathlyavocado and natepresnell, who's tribe threw the challenge to snipe him out (but would later get Redemption as the winner of Second Chances).
When the merge hit, Hufus was idoled out by AlexaVonTrayne in a 6(0)-3-2-1 split vote. The next couple of rounds saw alliances swing back and forth, to be honest I looked at the chart and the hell if I remember what was going on. Anyways, at final 7 the signature betrayal of the game occurred when bamold1999 and temponeptune turned on Jake, who had been running the game up until that point. After that, the trio of kennel123, GentlemanG, and bamold1999 had a relatively unopposed road to the end, voting out Absol, Bryce, and SeaViper in short order. At final tribal, Jake rallied the jury to give Ray the win over Tylor in a contentious 5-4-0 vote, with Kellen mostly being ignored by the jury.
This season was both hilarious and had some actual substantive storylines as well. ashszoke/ wheatbread and SeaViper were two great characters after the merge and I remember the final jury vote reveal being one of the most suspenseful moments in a game I hosted. People were genuinely invested in how this season panned out, and that's how you know it was good.
Memorable moments:
- Lemjam6 sending Amazon gift cards to every juror that didn't vote for Tylor to win
- SeaViper winning the final 6 immunity because everybody else did the challenge wrong and DQ'ed
- hints getting the game's wiki taken down after getting mad about being voted out
