So back in August I was driving home to Kentucky from South Carolina, when I ran over a large piece of an 18wheelers tire. I stopped at the next Rest area 2 miles down the road to make sure everything was okay. When I got out and looked at the front of my car I noticed it ripped out part of my grill, the entire covering of my wheel well, and some plastic coverings on the underneath side of my car.
Basically, when it rains and I drive my car, water is able to get up into my engine because a lot of the protective coverings were now gone.
Well, it has been extremely dry in Kentucky this past fall having only rained like 3 or 4 times. I really only drove my car like 2 times in the rain, and even then it wasn't a lot of water. So I procrastinated and now it is November and I had still yet to get my car fixed.
So my boyfriend ended up taking my car home to Alabama last week so he could visit his parents. He told me while he was down there for the 2 weeks he would have my car looked at and get it fixed.
*now remember the accident happened in august it is now november*
My boyfriends calls me this afternoon and says I have some good news and bad news.
I say, "Okay, good news first."
"Your car will be fixed tomorrow, and guess how much it is going to cost to fix it."
"Umm, $3,000?"
"$4,000, and your insurance isn't going to cover it. The mechanic said that they needed to replace nearly all of the wiring for the headlights, and a lot of the sensors in the engine due to water damage. Which if it was taken care of immediately they wouldn't have to replace anything."
"Well, I guess I can just put it on one of my credit cards. I deserve it because I waited so long to get it fixed."
"Okay, which card do you want me to put it on?"
"I guess the MC"
Billy then tells me, "Oh and by the way honey, it is really only going to cost $400. I just wanted to have a little fun with you, since you should have taken care of this 3 months ago."
