Where BB14 Went Wrong

Aug 27, 2012 by SWSU
I think its safe to say that Big Brother 14 has been a disaster, but why? Why is it so much worse than the other seasons that have been coming around? It's not out of the realm of possibilities to say that this one could surpass 12 as being the worst season ever. Since unlike Season 12, this cast had a lot of potential to be great, but I truly feel that Production has done everything they can to make this season bad. Similar to my Complaints of Survivor One World, I feel things would have worked better if the story was handled much better. The Prime Examples;

1.) Eliminating Someone (Jodi) On Night One. Not only is it not viewed well by fans, or fair to cast members that make it to the show, but having excess players can work well to deal with any unexpected departures that may happen (Case in point; Willie). Similar to how Survivor uses 20 person casts to prevent slowdown of episodes, Jodi could have stayed in the game and had
nothing happens, have another Double Eviction.

2.) Cancelling the Frank Eviction. In Week 3 we were presented with what could have been one of the most memorable moments in Big Brother History. Between Frank or Joe to be evicted, both sides were positive that their person was staying. No matter what happened we were going to have a blindside and then the coaches reenter the game. Part of me wants to say that this eviction was done to make up for the Willie ejection, but the simplest solution would be to cancel a double eviction down the line. God Forbid if Frank wins, it will be tainted by the fact that without a doubt that he could not have won without blatant producer riggage.

3.) Speaking of Frank, I have like a 6th sense for detecting Douchebags. I was against him and Troyzan before everyone else was, and they are essentially the same person. An Egotistical Producers pet who feels offended when people make moves to better themselves, and shame on them if it hurts them in the game. He has such a sense of entitlement to him, and the fact that he has Production on his side pushing him to the end somewhat validates his opinion. It disgusts me and to be honest I've been only keeping up with Jokers Updates and Sucks, just because Frank is so unbearable to watch. Not to mention he is the source of unfulfilled promises. Nobody wanted Frank to stay in any of the weeks he was nominated because they liked him. It was all "We need Frank to go after the Vets" (Uh oh, Frank is up the Coaches ass) "Frank staying will make the game interesting." (Aww Man, the most boring weeks of the game are when he is in power) He's essentially a douchebag version of Rachel from BB12 without any of the charm or entertainment, the story is all about getting him out, and tbh after 7 weeks its boring and annoying.

4.) Lack of shakeups. One thing that is enjoyable about Big Brother over Survivor and other Reality shows, is that its impossible to edit a winner. Since the show is live its hard to predict who is going to win week 1 so while one person may be in power week 2, next week they'd be irrelevant to the story. And even be on the verge of elimination. Normally this is good because look at BB13 for example. When shakeups happened, people like Kalia and Porsche around Dani's boot suddenly became important, and look how awesome they were after that. In BB14 now, look at who were power players in Week 2. (Shane, Danielle, Frank, Dan, Boogie) Look at who is here in week 7, all of them but Boogie. In a show like Big Brother, you need new people to be in power to shake things up.

5.) The Coaches Twist. We all knew From the moment the coaches were announced that they would be playing the game, it was just a matter of when, If they still wanted to do the Coach thing. Do it like BB8 and give them Immunity the first week then they're even players and could save themselves in the Coaches comp. Giving them Immunity for that long just made the players (Except Janelle's) Really dependent on them when they came into the game.

In Conclusion, The cast had real potential. The Producers just fucked it all up.

This season isn't that bad and #1 is stupid! Excess players?? We're at 8 people with 3 weeks left of the show we don't need more people

ShadowBaller000 Considering there are 3 people in the Finale, and the week before that is a Kalia/Jordan 2 rounds in 1 week. we're right on track. Wouldn't mind another FF though

Really I can't believe you didn't say the retarded double evictions ! They are the WORST episodes in every season. And this season we have to endure MORE than one ? Come on that blows.
