Five minutes is all I ask...

Jun 5, 2009 by RoboBob3000
There are two components of casting games that I believe would be improved with a slight five-minute delay added:

1. Introduce a five-minute pause between when the 20th player enters the game and when the first nominations are decided. Everyone here knows how much it sucks to be the last person to show up to a game and get insta-nominated. Give those last 2-3 players another five minutes to introduce themselves and that should be enough to make the first round nominations not entirely unfair. At least.

2. Add another five minutes of dead time at the end of a game, after the winner has been decided. Right now every comment thread in a game ends with anticipation of the final results. Adding a couple of minutes to the end where every player formerly in the game can chat can give that comment thread some closure. The winner can hoot and holler and the other players can extend their congrats. It'll make the endings feel less abrupt.

I agree with both.
