Surviving 1984: Director's Cut - 15th Place Jun 10, 2020
imageToday we had a fast paced tribal that resulted in Nick getting the boot. Nick, I have wanted to host you for a while so when you applied I was very excited! You came into this game really hard with great strategy, though the connections just weren't in your favor. You definitely did not go down without swinging! Thank you so much for being apart of this season!

Nick / benner_2304, thank you so much for playing!

imageTonight we saw Kendyl's game come to a close in a blind side! Kendyl, this was your third time playing in the 1984 franchise. Each time, you do better and better. You came in swinging and were a big force in your tribe in the beginning of the game. You had a rivalry early on and successfully got out your target, but unfortunately you left one round later. You were once again a pleasure!

Kendyl / thekendyldiaries, thank you so much for playing!

Surviving 1984: Director's Cut - 17th Place Jun 7, 2020
imageTonight we saw Krissy's game come to an end. After a hard fought battle, the numbers just didn't end up in your favor this week. Krissy, outside this game, you are one of my best friends so I was so excited when you accepted your invite to apply. You expressed that you didn't like this cast and that is very likely the downfall of your game. I hope you at least had a little fun during your time in 1984 and I hope this isn't the last time we see you!

Krissy, thank you so much for playing!

Tonight we saw the end of Tim's game. Tim, you were an alternate this season but I am very glad you ended up getting a spot on the season. You were very eager to play, but you were pinned as part of a trio early on. With one trio member gone round one, this unfortunately wasn't the end of the trio being taken out as we saw you leave in a 6 to 3 vote tonight. You played hard, but it just wasn't enough at the end of the day.

Tim / lionsden121, thank you so much for playing!

You guys do realize that Jeff Probst says all the time that he loves how CHILDREN watch survivor right? I have had my students talk to me about watching survivor and I talk about Big Brother with them over the summer because they watch it. They understand the game. Kids are not as dumb or naive as a lot of people think.

My students are fully aware of what we are doing when playing a game of survivor or big brother. They know that its a game and that being voted out isn't about who is liked and who isn't. Its about trying to win the game. They get that. I know some of you don't understand that kids actually have intelligent brains, but they do. The kids ASK me to play these games. That was the only reason we played today. Yes, this one obviously wasn't the most successful which is why I said we aren't going to do it again. Yes, I could have ended it early, but there were still kids in the game having some fun with it. While most of the kids were complaining, that's what kids do. They complain.

We are currently only allowed to have 9 kids in the school age room and they have to be in different areas from each other the whole time. They aren't allowed to really interact with each other other than talking because of all the Covid stuff. This was something that was able to pass some time. This isn't as serious as people are taking it. The kids almost found it as a joke to vote each other and laughed when their name was written down. Yes, in the past years the kids took the game more seriously, but as a game. They know it isn't personal.

If I thought for a second that what I was doing was actually harming my students in any way, I clearly wouldn't be doing it. I have been in the field of education for 6 years. I will soon have my bachelor's degree in education. I have worked with kids for 11 years. I know what I'm doing.

Also, I am asked about daycare survivor all the time by my friends and some other random people so I posted the blog to update them. If you don't like it, then ignore the blog. Neg it if you want, I dont care, but there is no reason to put hatred out there about something you barely know anything about. I dont blog for attention or a top blog. I blog for the people who are interested in the subject.

Also, the fact that anyone here who says they work with kids is immediately called a pedophile is not only disgusting, but it really shows the type of people that are on this website.

Daycare Survivor Update I guess? Jun 5, 2020
So many of you know, the past three years I did a few editions of Survivor / Big Brother with the kids at the daycare I work at. Obviously daycares are limiting enrollment down to 9 children per room at the moment.

So today, one of the kids that was there was past few years really wanted to play, however most of the kids we have are too young to really understand the concept, but we rolled with it.

So basically the teams were boys (5 kids) vs. girls (4 kids)

The boys lost first, they voted out a kindergartner.

Then the girls lost and they voted out the girl who asked to play LOL.

Then the other kindergarten boy was voted out.

Then a 1st grade boy got voted out.

Then a 1st grade girl got voted out.

Then in final four we had... a 2nd grade girl, 1st grade boy, 2nd grade boy and a Kindergarten girl. The boys stuck together and the girls stuck together.

The vote tied at four so they did a challenge where the 2nd grade girl left.

At the final 3, the 2nd grade boy won immunity and took the kindergarten girl with him because he said she would lose to him in the end lol.

In the end, the Kindergarten girl won 4 to 3.

For the challenges, they were basically all random things like pick a number 1 to 10. All the votes were kinda like Borneo style because the kids have to stay 6 feet apart so they can't really whisper LOL.

It was interesting and all done in one day. We probably won't do another this summer because most of the kids didnt really even want to play it LOL

Also the best part is that the girl who won literally didn't care at ALL and asked me why people voted her LOL
