Chikorita's debut video game appearance was in the 1999 Japanese release of Pokémon Gold and Silver. It is one of three starter Pokémon the player can select at the beginning of the game as well as in Pokémon Crystal and their remakes, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver along with Cyndaquil and Totodile. In Pokémon Emerald, Chikorita and the other starters can be chosen from after completing the Hoenn Pokédex. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Chikorita can be obtained from Professor Birch following the Delta Episode. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Chikorita, normally unobtainable in the wild, can be found by scanning QR codes while on Melemele Island. Chikorita has made several appearances in other games. In both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Chikorita can be used to attack opponents with a Razor Leaf when released from a Poke Ball. In 2017 Chikorita appeared in Pokémon Go app, along with Cyndaquil, Totodile and 77 others.[1] Chikorita also became a focus of a "Community Day" event in Go on its September 2018 occurrence.[2]
Pikachu (Japanese: ピカチュウ Hepburn: Pikachū, pronounced [pikatɕɯː], English: /ˈpiːkətʃuː/) are a species of Pokémon, fictional creatures that appear in an assortment of video games, animated television shows and movies, trading card games, and comic books licensed by The Pokémon Company, a Japanese corporation. They are yellow rodent-like creatures with powerful electrical abilities. In most vocalized appearances, including the anime and certain video games, they are primarily voiced by Ikue Ōtani. Pikachu will appear as part of the main cast in the upcoming live-action animated film Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, played in CGI and voiced by Ryan Reynolds.
The Pikachu design was conceived by Atsuko Nishida and finalized by Ken Sugimori. Pikachu first appeared in Pokémon Red and Green in Japan, and later in the first internationally released Pokémon video games, Pokémon Red and Blue, for the original Game Boy.
Like other species of Pokémon, Pikachu are often captured and groomed by humans to fight other Pokémon for sport. Charizard (/ˈtʃɑːrɪzɑːrd/), known in Japan as Lizardon (リザードン Rizādon), is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Atsuko Nishida,[1] Charizard first appeared in the video games Pokémon Red and Blue and subsequent sequels. They have later appeared in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated and printed adaptations of the franchise. Shin-ichiro Miki, the actor who voices James in the original Japanese version of the Pokémon anime, voices Charizard in both the Japanese and English-language versions of the anime. An orange, draconic Pokémon, Charizard is the evolved form of Charmeleon and the final evolution of Charmander. It also has two Mega Evolved forms, Mega Charizard X and Y, that were likely both designed by Tomohiro Kitakaze, the designer of Mega Charizard X,[2] are not permanent and always revert to the normal Charizard form.
Charizard is featured in the Pokémon anime series with the most recurring being from the main character Ash Ketchum. It is featured in printed adaptations such as Pokémon Adventures, in the possession of Blue, one of the main characters. Charizard appears in Pokémon Origins with main character Red as its trainer. Charizard has received positive reception from the media, with GamesRadar describing it as "hands-down one of the coolest Pokémon out there". Charizard is the version mascot of Pokémon Red and FireRed versions, and makes an appearance on the boxarts of Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Ranger, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, and Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It has appeared in every entry of the Super Smash Bros. series, in an unplayable capacity in the first two games before becoming a playable character from Super Smash Bros. Brawl onwards.
Teddiursa is a bipedal, ursine Pokémon covered in short, orange-brown fur. Its muzzle is light tan with a small black nose and black eyes. There is a slightly paler tan crescent marking on its face, and it has round ears. It has three claws on its forepaws as well as two claws and yellow paw pads on its hind paws. Its tail is short, round, and puffy.
Teddiursa uses Beedrill pollen and fruit to create its own honey. The marking on its face glows when it finds honey already made. Honey is often absorbed into Teddiursa's forepaws, and it is often seen licking them. It will hide food stores throughout its territory before food becomes scarce in winter. Teddiursa lives in mountainous forests.
