That's one of the few girlgroups I find tolerable, so you're lucky or... Tasteful. Perhaps both. Hwasa is a bad bitch and seeing her style makes me lowkey happy. I don't love this, I think it's kinda stupid... The track title doesn't do it for me, at some points looks childish, and the best thing is when I start to believe it's becoming to comfortable on the pop beats, it changes with a very very good electronic break. Like the song is OK i'd say. Not something I'd hear multiple times, but it isn't bad.
ILoveSleep ─ “Mahmood - Soldi”
At first I thought this would be a boring submission, kind of italian Sam Smith teas, but his voice is great, the guy clearly has rhythm, knows what he's doing, the video is artistically beautiful and made me interested in watching the whole thing, the claps are definitely an A+, the song is legit different and something I expected from this challenge. You understood the assignment.
_Matt ─ “Danna Paola - MÍA”
I honestly liked your first submission better. I dislike Danna Paola quite a lot. She's hot and has personality, I'll give her that. Vocals also. But her music is just so dull to me. Like personally it has no flavor.... This song is no exception. There's a good production to it, the contemporary hot pop girl is just not my cup of tea.
gabrieltrezza ─ “The Pirouettes - L'escalier”
Gave me Sandy & Júnior teas. At first I wasn't seeing the potential to the song, but their chemistry singing is very good, the beats are catchy and you know french is always somewhat sexy. I think the softness in her voice kinda drove me in, specially when combined with his voice at times.
SomebodyAwesome ─ “YOUHA - 오늘 조금 취해서 그래 (Abittipsy)”
Despite being afraid of cancellation, I must say it: I hate k-pop. But this? THIS TURNED IT OUT, LUV. What the actual fuck... Like. It's an excellent song, let alone the video production (won't go over there cuz we all know k-pops are used for having amazing visuals), the thing with me is I think they do that to mascarate kinda dull and obvious songs, which this one... Was not. I love love love this and I think I'll hear it a lot more in the future, which is always a bonus. The girl is cute, has charisma and from what I can tell, talent as well.
mathboy9 ─ “OrelSan - Basique”
At first I thought this was kinda stupid. I might still think that way. Like, you're dropping obvious facts. Tea. Now what? It gives me M.I.A. - Borders, perhaps a lil' bit worse. I like the style of the music video being shot that way and the concept of being around regular people. I kinda wish he had a little bit less of an attitude like he's "ha, i did something here" except... You're not all that, love. I love me a song with a message and for that you're scored a little bit higher but this song just didn't give me much.
ItsAlexia ─ “IC3PEAK - Грустная Сука / Sad Bitch”
Feels like an acid trip went wrong and I love it? Channels Robert Eggers teas, very Yo-landi Vi$$er teas also, it's very satanic and I'm here for it. Love love love the witch house vibes in this, the screams, the black wet mud or whatever that is. This is the one song I kinda wish I knew what she's saying cuz I am 1000% SURE it's something dull as fuck and non sense, like MY BUTTER IS FREE. MY WINGS ARE SMELLY. Which, of course, makes it better.
Lukesaur ─ “Perfume - Polyrhythm”
Oh, I love Perfume. It reminds me of Tengaged 2008 teas, cuz you know the andryh girls were thirsty for the bitches. I've always loved them, I think this choice could be odd, I like chocolaito disseco a little bit better. They literally invented PC Music though, so that's a huge slap onto AG Cook's ass. The song is very 2000s by itself, a vibe that delivers to me. Song is good, their voices being pitchy af makes it funny but also... good. Overall a great song for me.
boyfriend ─ “луни ана - Колыбельная”
This wasn't bad. At all. It's classy. I think the thing here is that I'm used to getting the trip hop department store vibe from you by now, which can like... Not be as surprising. This was, also, kind of one note. Like, the song is soft and very good for those jazzy cooking days when it's drizzling slowly (i just googled this translation up idk if it's right). I'd enjoy this more after two or four glasses of wine and being at some guy's house, I'd say.
sosyomomma ─ “Emi Alupei - Karma”
Oh, I love her attitude. Like that's mom. Unfortunately, that's the only thing I love in this. The song itself just doesn't do it for me. Like, she's pretty and a bad ass, I give her that. But perhaps singing just isn't her career to follow. I like the aesthetics of the vid, actually. Production is kinda cheap (beat-wise), and very forgettable for me... Just not for me, I'd say.
Based on that, I have made my decisions.
