boysofsummer2005 : 7 Years / Lukas Graham
-
Noelle (8/10): I like the direction you went this week. This song is really emotionally powerful and I see the inspiration there about living a good life to be proud of because it's so short :( this song seriously makes me depressed LMFAO

Blu (9/10): This is such a great song and I’m most impressed by you taking constructive feedback and choosing a song out of your normal realm of music. This had a great message, grungy sound, and a nice hook very powerful.
°°°
smi9127 : Kintsugi / Gabrielle Alpin
-
Noelle (7.5/10): I like that this song had some cuter & more positive vibes to it while also having depth to it. Thanks for teaching me something new too! I definitely liked certain parts of her vocal delivery better than others though.

Blu (8/10): This such an interesting song choice, but it was catchy at the same time, i really enjoyed her unique sound, the arrangement of different instruments, and how catchy the song was. The message was also clear. This was a good risk of a song that worked in your favor.
°°°
Becksta20 : Hall of Fame / The Script
-
Noelle (5/10): Is...it your goal to be in a hall of fame for something? If so, good on you queen. I don't think this song provides any depth, it was definitely written just for the radio/to try and be popular. Kind of meh for this :(

Blu (7/10): While i commend you on choosing a song that was much better than last week, this one still left me a bit flat in parts. It had a great production, great hook to it but there was no real climatic moment that I was wanting from it. Was still a pretty good song choice though, hall of fame. That’s a goal.
°°°
CarolinaSteele : Point of No Return / Starset
-
Noelle (7/10): Definitely an interesting take on the week. It was a little aggressive for me but it holds up. We all find inspiration in different ways!

Blu (8.5/10): This song hit hard in so many ways, i just felt my self fist pumping during parts of it especially the chorus. It was so raw, passionate, unfiltered, and that rage scream of determination to just go all the way, i thought was marvelously done. This is the type of song I expected for you which for me wasn’t as much of a risk, but i can’t fault you because it was powerful.
°°°
abstractjay : Invisible / Zara Larsson
-
Noelle (6/10): Zara's voice is definitely great...so I was expecting more here. There is too much instrumental and it's just very like nothing is going on for most of it, the actual payoff of her voice is very little imo.

Blu (7.5/10): you’ve been one of my favorites in the competition. I thought this was another solid song selection but compared to some of your others throughout the competition it was a bit luke warm. Zara is very talented but the song didnt soar to new heights like i was hoping for it. It just kind of stayed in the midrange. there were parts where I couldn’t understand what she was saying because the music drowned her voice out. I love the chorus though, the hook and band was great. That beat was nice.
°°°
hayden9102 : Learn to Live / Darius Rucker
-
Noelle (9.5/10): This was a SERVE! The music & the lyrics were definitely delivering everything I was hoping they would from the start and I was WORRIED...because Darius Rucker is not one of my faves in country. Great job!

Blu (9.5/10):  I’m glad you went out of your comfort zone on this one because I felt like we needed a change of pace from you to compete with the rest of this group. You picked the right song. Darrius is amazing. This song was such a bop, it’s so catchy and makes you appreciate country music and his artistry of versatility. The chorus makes you get up and dance and it’s so motivational at the same time.  My favorite this week.

The results...are in.

JAY....you are continuing to the final 5.

Beck, thank you for playing! Unfortunately, your time in the music studio has come to an end :(

Feedback:
-
Noelle's
-
Jay - I like Sia's vocals and the music of this song. That's really all I have to say here. Good submission!

Beck - I think this went the more aggressive fight song route, which you know, has it's place, but is not my preference as a judge.
-
Blu's
-
Becksta - This was a pretty good song choice, I love Bon Jovi but this is not one of my favs. There was a lot of lyrical meaning in this song that to me was overshadowed by the production. It was just obnoxiously loud and scattered for me. Also really hard to compete against the other contestant’s choice as far as creativity goes. You’ve done very well in this competition but for me, I don’t think this song is strong enough for the top 5.

Abstractjay - Now why didn't you submit this song for this round? It brought about so many elements of visuals, creativity, art, awkwardness but at the same time a clear and concise message. Sia is a genius at what she does & how she captivates the audience with her uniqueness. You need to continue down this path because as an early front runner, you can’t afford to go out now.
