Need advice please

Oct 5, 2021 by FlamingJojo
I went to a restaurant today and the current manager, who worked with me at a point, at my current job rn, wanted to talk with me...

She mentioned that she has given her 2 weeks at the restaurant she is managing and had asked if I would be interested in managing it...

I have worked at the same location, my first job, for the last 4 and a half years, where the most experience I will get on my resume is a supervisor...which isn't much really, compared to a manager.

Any advice?

So she's not working there anymore, and wants you to take her spot that she's quitting for?

That's shady

I鈥檓 confused are you interested in the new position ? Is it guaranteed yours? How does the salary compare to what you do now ?

Also if it鈥檚 so good why is she leaving it ?

Well, she is probably going to something that pays more I gathered and I do make less than what she makes rn, at the job she's quitting at DanielKennedy111

It doesn't sound that good tbh as I know my manager's salary, my assistant manager's salary and hers...which hers is more like the assistant's at my current job.

Can you try it out and not quit your other job? Cause it seems shady but then again what if its not and you miss an opportunity

hmmm I think you should talk to her about the job more and see like what the benefit would be for you if you took her job FlamingJojo

I probably leave it alone then especially if you like your current location and can move up there

You see, both jobs are lacking staff rn and I actually compromise regularly for my current job rn, compared to other employees.

Like, I work the evenings as a Supervisor rn and the first time--actually got an extra 1.5$ an hour for the work I have done on the evening shift...though, it also doesn't add anything new to my resume.
So safe and something I can do well, but nothing new either.

This other job would be manager, but only about 1-1.5 more an hour than what I do at the moment, but their tips are better than what I do, so I gathered by what the woman shared, as they get interact tips and I don't have that option, at my current job.

So, if this was a regular position, I would of declined because I don't need that on my resume, as I have sort of work experience...being as, they are both restaurant-based jobs.

So to conclude ManniBoi
I could quit the new one and go back to the old one, but I also would be back at minimum wage, more than likely. =/

Oh, I can't actually move up there Kiara_xoxo as I am the highest I would get, unless the assistant manager or manager go, which they are sisters lol
Also, as the current job is with less and less staff, I am kinda meh about it..I more want to leave my shit town and move to a city, is more my mentality if there was a choice between stay at current job, change to a new job or move to a new location..c is my clear answer

That is where I am at rn with my thoughts too Skyler1822
Just wanted to see if there was any signs on what to do
