All tributes stand on their pedestals as the countdown hits 3... 2... 1... 0!! The majority of tributes scatter, all claiming vantage points, rushing other tributes or heading for the supply pile, which seems to be much smaller this year, than in past years.
Some tributes, however, are so afraid that they are unable to move from their pedestals. District partners KIMMAL and KINDRED are two of those. Just beside each other, they make eye contact, and realize the urgency of their situation. With one small nod, they signal that they'll leave together, and get out of the area. On a silent count to 3, they run for it, and miraculously make it out.
PI is another to remain frozen on his pedestal. JESSIE notices this, and hurries toward him, hoping to kill him before he regained his senses. Jessie managed to land a single punch, breaking Pi's nose, before Pi comes alive again and runs away.
ABSTRACTJAY reaches the pile of supplies first, and selects a small knife from the pile. MRKK is right behind him, and claims a spear, not wanting to wait. Abstractjay, taking advantage, immediately slams his knife into Mrkk's knee. Mrkk crumples to the ground, but remains conscious, and crawls away before Abstractjay can finish him. Abstractjay decides that Mrkk would make an easy first target.
CRAYADIAN is one of the tributes who decides to run away from the situation instead of so much as trying anything. He makes it to the 7 bridges leading away, and chooses one at random. As soon as he puts any weight on in, it collapses, and sends him tumbling to his death below.
DJ makes it to the supply pile, and claims a bow, though he doesn't see any arrows lying around. After a quick glance around, he spots ABROGATED sneaking up behind him. DJ waits until the last minute before turning around, and smashing his bow into Abrogated's head, in the panic of the moment, forgetting that they're district partners. He remembers though, just as he's about to deliver the killing blow, and bails.
ALIBONICO was one of the tributes to seek a vantage point -- behind some bushes, out of view. Her chance finally arrives when MEXASH walks by. AliBonico lunges out of the bushes and punches him square in the chest, breaking a few ribs, and knocking him out with the pain. She's just about to finish the job, when CHERITAISDELICIOUS notices her not paying attention. Cheritaisdelicious picks up a rock, and, after rushing in quickly, smashes it into AliBonico's head, killing her instantly.
MAXI is terrified of everyone after stepping off the pedestal.
GENTLEMANG is just about to leave the area when he notices MEXASH lying on the ground next to ALIBONICO's body. GentlemanG approaches, and, as the sadistic side of him kicks in, he leans down and breaks Mexash's wrists and ankles, before departing.
XCHARLIEX arrives at the supply pile and claims a first-aid kit, knowing that anything can be made into a weapon, but not many things can be made into bandages.
PI arrives at the supply pile, and picks up a sack of food, hoping that it'll last.
ABROGATED regains consciousness and surveys the area, trying to decide what to do next.
PHONEE arrives at the supply pile, reaching it when no one else is around, for safety reasons, but is surprised when an explosion goes off from a rogue piece of dynamite in the pile, blowing his foot off entirely. He crumples to the ground, and lays there. TRYPHENA, seeing this, rushes in and stomps on Phonee's skull, killing him immediately.
DARREL, who's been waiting nearby hurries toward TRYPHENA, likely with the intention of killing her quickly, but only manages to tackle her to the ground, knocking her out before he loses his nerve, and runs off into the bushes.
MRKK, after having gotten away from abstractjay earlier, notices JOHNPOPPER looking around, lost. Mrkk limps toward him as stealthily as possible, trying not to put too much weight on his damaged knee. JohnPopper notices him, just as Mrkk raises his spear, ready to throw it at JohnPopper's stomach. JohnPopper ducks, just in time, saving his own life, but a huge gash slices his head open, nearly knocking him out from the pain. Mrkk uses his distraction to reclaim his spear and hurry away.
ABSTRACTJAY carefully sneaks toward GEORGEFLAIR, where he stands, paralyzed with fear, on his pedestal. With a quick motion, abstractjay uses his knife to slit open GeorgeFlair's throat, and the latter crumples to the ground, dead in seconds.
VOILA arrives at the supply pile and claims a huge sword.
SAMHAMWICH, after avoiding confrontation as well as the supply pile, at last decides to involve himself after noticing Mrkk limping across a bridge. SamHamwich dashes across the bridge as fast as he can to catch up with Mrkk. Before Mrkk can react, SamHamwich snatches the spear from Mrkk's hands, and thrusts it through his stomach, killing him instantly.
ABROGATED watches as BRIGHTONGAL sneaks up on SAMHAMWICH in his moment of victory, and shoves him off the bridge. He flails for a few seconds, but fails to find purchase, and falls to his death far below. Brightongal, Abrogated decided, was definitely a threat.
ABROGATED sneaks up on BRIGHTONGAL, still on the bridge, knowing that it's best to take out the big threats when they're distracted. He gets close, and then tackles her to the ground as hard as he can, knocking her out.
ABSTRACTJAY watches this all with interest, and notices ABROGATED coming in to finish off BRIGHTONGAL. He's distracted; that's when they're at their easiest to kill. abstractjay runs toward the bridge from his vantage point, staying as quiet as possible. Abrogated doesn't fail to see him coming. Abrogated bails on the situation, leaving Brightongal unconscious on the bridge and rushing toward the forest. abstractjay gives chase, but as soon as he arrives on the bridge, his foot hits a patch of liquid, and he slips... and falls to his death below.
XCHARLIEX notices JOHNPOPPER nearby, wobbling around, clutching his head, and becomes instantly nervous. Before he can think too much about it, he swings his first-aid kit toward JohnPopper's head, and, as it connects, JohnPopper crumples to the ground, unconscious once again.
MAXI is hurrying away from the Cornucopia when he trips on a rock and sprains his ankle, collapsing on the ground. The pain knocks him unconscious, just in front of a bridge.
A loud animal noise sounds from somewhere in the area, and suddenly, everyone remaining is desperate to leave. All except MAXI are awake again and alert. Even MEXASH, bleeding heavily, is aware that he needs to leave.
One by one, every person left in the Cornucopia runs for the bridges, ready to get out... Everyone except MAXI, who is trampled -- not to death, but to severe injury -- in the resulting chaos. He wakes again some two hours later, miraculously still alive, but more than ready to leave. Though he is weak, adrenaline allows him to stand up, and wobble across the bridge.
