I know im late but ive been struggling to find the words to express my condolences for those families that were affected by the shooting in Orlando. For those of you not in the US or maybe havent heard early Sunday morning there was the largest mass shooting in american history killing 50 plus and injuring 50 plus more. As i try to express my condolences i find myself saying typical cliche things like "im sorry for your loss. At least theyre in a better place." It really makes me mad that we have to say yet another mass shooting, but not all of them get national exposure theres been over 160 mass shootings in America just in 2016. Also its frustrating when a white person executes a mass shooting its a tragedy but when a Muslim commits one its terrorism, in about the past years you wanna know how many mass shootings have been committed by Muslims? 3 and yet Americans have a perception that Muslims are below us. This is 2016 and were still stereotyping an entire race, same thing happened in the 1940s with the Nazis and Jewish people. Have we really not grown in 70 years? When will we stop stereotyping and accept each other?
To all families affected by the shooting i can not express enough how sorry i am for your losses.
To all Muslims i apologize for the negative stereotype given to you by Americans and other parts of the world.
