Chespin is a pure Grass type, and is one of the three starters available for choosing in the Kalos region. Now, I will admit, for it being a grass type starter, and it's design not appealing to me as much as the other two starters, it is still somewhat cute. However, the thing about Chespin is that, well, it's trash due to it's mediocre stats, mediocre abilities, and mediocre movepool. It's just not really a good starting pokemon for a Kalos playthrough, and is heavily outclassed by the other two starters. Was originally planning on ranking this a little higher, but ultimately decided that the others were more deserving of the higher spots.
