Unless you're 1 or 2, it benefits you.
Wash, rinse, repeat this every round the first four or five sets.
Just figure out who those people are in your cast. Don't waste your time with red levels and star rookies (unless they are player 1 or 2). If that person is you, do everything to convince people people that you aren't and push someone else to be the big threat.

that's why it's best to do that for 16th- the hidden poll, because it gets one of them out asap and the first person hardly gets traction due half the site not going out of their way to look for the poll. but then you have time to figure out how to get the survivor out. but yeah, the nuance and execution is everything and this is easier said than actually done, as people have differing perceptions, relationships, and agendas.
As someone who is often considered 1 or 2, I am t.ears at this. But objectively, that is a smart idea for 16th, ALTHOUGH I will say if you are say, 3rd or 4th in popularity, you might not wanna do that, because it ups your threat level right out of the gate.
I am confused what you mean by the rinse and repeat thing. Do you mean like 3rd popular vs 4th popular for set 2? I disagree with going down that track longer than one set, for one thing, it's hard to try to rank everyone in the cast in terms of popularity, but also you'll obviously have less people on board for it the further down the line you try to go, and this is clearly only a good idea for very unpopular people. Also the survivor of 16th can't go up again for quite some time or you run the risk of flavoring them.
