GROUP 3:
UNDERDOGS.

These four houseguests were in difficult positions for much of their game for numerous reasons. From fighting against perceived majority alliances they were not in, being seen as a lesser-threat if they were in an alliance, some struggling to win crucial competitions, these houseguests all faced an up-hill battle in some way, and are hoping to do better this time.

The first underdog first played in Season 3 where as a stronger physical player he had great control over the turning of the game for the first few rounds, allowing him to properly play the game. His downfall came at the first double eviction, switching from being the HoH in power to being the backdoor target where he was taken out in a 4-3 vote. He then returned two seasons later, where he struggled to have the same fortune. In the shorter season going win-less in the pre-jury phase, he was then a nominee both rounds in the game of the jury phase, where despite surviving a narrow 3-2 vote the round prior, he was sent out the door unanimously.

Our second underdog played in Season 6 where he was in a comfortable spot for the majority of the pre-jury stage, allowing him to build on social relationships. The biggest issue for this player was the side which were stronger at competitions tended to not be his allies, which allowed for many of his allies to get picked off one by one. At Final 6, he was able to win HoH and take one shot at the dominating alliance, but the following round after failing to win either HoH or PoV, he was evicted due to a tiebreaker vote.

The third underdog played in Season 7 where he was in the dominating alliance for much of the game, though overall he was deemed as less of a threat compared to most of his alliance. Despite not being nominated until Final 6, this houseguest struggled to get his hands on power himself, leading to him being nominated three times consecutively, and being taken out after narrowly losing both the Final 4 HoH and PoV.

Our final underdog is from the most recent season of JR Big Brother where she established herself early as a big player coming to make moves. She was not in the core group, and despite her and the other minority houseguests prevailing in many competitions, she was always a common target and had to earn everything she got. Ultimately she was taken out near end game for being a threat, and when her closest ally used the Secret PoV on himself, there was nowhere else for her to run.

GROUP 4:
TOP-DOGS.

These four houseguests are houseguests who sat comfortably throughout their seasons. Even if nominated on a few occasions, never at serious risk of leaving the game. These houseguests all had numerous qualities that benefited them throughout their time in the game, but all ultimately came up short and were evicted as they were deemed the threat to win.

Our first top-dog first played in Season 3 where he was in a comfortable position at the top of his alliance. Despite being nominated a couple times, he either won his way off the block or had the allies to save him. Deemed the biggest threat to win the entire game, his game first had signs of coming undone at F5 when the Veto was used forcing his only remaining ally to leave, ahead of his eviction at Final 4. He then returned for Season 9 where he had to win his way off the block countless times, but overall still sat in a comfortable spot due to his relationships with certain players. He stood a strong chance of winning, and had he won one final competition he likely would have been the winner.

The second top-dog first played in Season 4 where despite being off to a shaky start and having a shaky pre-jury run, he then came into a comfortable position during the jury phase. Winning 2 HoH’s and having 2 of the biggest players leave on either of them, he stood a strong chance to win, until he was taken out after losing Final 4 veto. He then returned for All-Stars where, despite winning just one veto in the shorter season, he remained unnominated until Final 5 due to his strength in social game. Ultimately he again was taken out at Final 4 for the reason of him being a threat to win.

Top-dog number 3 is the lowest placing player to be in this category. Competing in Season 7, he was in a comfortable alliance for the entire game where HoH’s were generally bounced back and forth, including this player winning 3 HoH’s himself, allowing his alliance to eliminate threats to their game. Surviving the block once when opposition nominated him demonstrated his social abilities, but he was taken out the following week after being a bigger threat than his opponent on the block.

Our fourth top-dog competed in a more recent season, where he was the very evident comp beast throughout the game. Winning many vetoes to ensure either his own or an allies safety, or even to lock the nominations when opponents faced the block, this houseguest was seen as the one-to-beat throughout. After winning F5 HoH, he had to rely on F4 Veto which he was unable to win, and as a result placed 4th.
