To determine who deserves a spot in the finals of the Next Top Model 12: Breaking Boundaries, you'd be doing a series of tasks given by our very own judges. So, shall we get to it?
Marlon's Challenge - Colors
This will be a first come first pick basis. You'd each be picking on the primary colors - red, yellow, blue and green. You need to interpret the color based on what you want may it be literally, emotionally or both.
Lucky's Challenge - Upside Down
Now this may be tricky, what Judge Lucky wants you to do is to pick a photo and submit it upside down. The goal here is to see how would it look, if is it still modelesque if turned upside down, or what?
Carly's Challenge - The Avengers
Well it's pretty obvious that MCU played a big part in the entertainment industry. For her task, With the final Avengers movie releasing soon, models are to post a photos representing one of the Infinity Stones (first come, first pick basis) - Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Time, Soul. Explanation to the photo and how it connects with the stone is needed.
Sui's Challenge - Commercial
We all know you do good in photos, but in motion? We'll see that in this challenge. For your task, you will show us how good you can perform in motion through presenting a commercial video.
Jerard's Challenge - Advocacy
Fighting for what.... is the theme for my challenge, what I want you to do is to present a photo that shows your advocacy (e.g. equal rights, lgbtq+, etc.) your photo must convey a message. And ofcourse explanation will save you in this round.
Power Stone was hidden in an orb that Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Peter Quill discovers on the planet Morag. The Power Stone gives the person who wields it the power to destroy an entire planet as its power is proportional to the organic matter it touches. So in this photograph, I am modeling the Power Stones destructive aftermath with an entire forest of downed trees. https://66.media.tumblr.com/576376e0ab59dc2228e20fa5c30fb67f/tumblr_oicuzr7Vkc1qajhjjo1_400.jpg
Sui’s Challenge:
Jerard’s Challenge:
Garrett being a Delaware native each summer he and his family would gather to Katama Bay which is off the coast of Massachusetts. Garrett is an international advocate for change in policy and action to protect our oceans—and keeping them clean.
Naomi is an advocate for individuality she knows that everyone is different and that confident can help with self esteem. Love your skin and personality. #Daretobeyou
I interpreted Yellow as the emotion happiness. The atmosphere of this photo is all yellow yet my outfit it blue. This pays homage to the fact that the happiness of people around you can lead to your own sadness.
The Reality Stone grants user’s any gift they want but more importantly can create ANY Alternate Reality, when powerful enough even create reality. I chose this picture to represent the pure happiness, bliss, and wonder that comes along with a perfect universe you can create using this stone.
Sui’s Challenge:
This is a musical promotion commercial for my [then] upcoming song, ‘Say It To My Face’
I am a HUGE support of the Women Empowerment movement. Through my modeling and singing career, I’ve been very comfortable with my sexuality and showing off my body. I’ve always been criticized for this, saying it takes away from my singing career or that im basically porn model. To me, my sexuality empowers me...i feel sexy & free. But that’s not every woman's path. Some feel sexy and confident when they study or ace a test. This photo shoot I wanted to portray the different type of women and highlight on the aspects that make them feel confident and strong. I am wearing my go go boots to portray the women that perform, strip, use their sexuality to feel confident. My outfit is a long lab coat type of deal so this is for all the women that use academia or even modesty to empower themselves.

- Carly's Shoot - Soul Stone
Hello judges! Today I've chosen the Soul Stone. According to the https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Soul_Stone , the Soul Stone is of the color orange. It has the ability to manipulate a soul and conjure others from the dead. My photo tries to represent Iveta conjuring someone from the dead and manipulating a soul into following her and waiting for her to do her job.
- Sui's Shoot - Commercial
A commercial for promoting myself taking place in Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

- Jerard's Shoot - Advocacy
Hello judges once again! I am fighting for Woman Empowerment. Many women in my country and other countries around me are being mistreated and laws still aren't stopping it. It's 2019 and women can be anything they want to be, heck, they can even become a man if they want to. In this photo, me and another woman are being fierce and strong. I wanted to portray a fierce, hard-working woman who seeks reward like my adventure here at NTM 12. I want to show you that I try to work hard and ALWAYS try to become better each week even if I struggle.
My Task
Garrett: You did the challenge, i cant say its an interesting photo and theres a lot of dead space but it is perfectly servicable
Naomi: Im not really getting the love or passion you bring up but it cartainly is very red though and you are killing it
Madison: The photo has lighting issues, your overexposed and im not really getting happiness from this at all, more the opposite really
Iveta: This is disappointing, it really doesnt feel like a modeling shot and the green is just added in after as a blanket, well below what ive seen from you previously
Garrett: its a very basic shot and the upside down really does nothing for it, it just makes it feel awkward
Naomi: You didnt flip it upside down, so i had to manually do it, its not a great photo but luckily its better upaide down, changes the perspective and makes you feel like a balloon stuck on the roof and i kinda like it though dead space and bland colors are still a big problem
Madison: This was really smart, i wouldnt have been a fan of the original and its still overedited and unfocused but the reflection and you swapping places here gives it a lot of charm
Iveta: The messily painted walls gives this an almost whimsical tone and helps brush away the question of gravity, i really enjoy how this comes together
CARLY:
- Garrett Neff (Brandonh1)
This is quite a different type of shot for you and I like it. I love how you connected it to the Power Stone and showed the bleakness of the aftermath with the color filter. You in all white sends a message of survival.
- Iveta Mukuchyan (SharonMaItems)
A very interesting shot and I like the context you gave it. It’s different from what you have given us in the past, which is a plus.
- Madison Beer (Survivorgame1)
Your link is not working for me.
- Naomi Smalls (Ajathekween)
I wish you would have given an explanation because this is a really fierce shot. However, you did not fully execute the task I presented.
JERARD:
- Garrett Neff (Brandonh1)
Simple, yet powerful. I love that you are advocating for the ocean and sea life. The black and white filter adds to the seriousness of this cause. It’s not about your styling, but rather the message.
- Iveta Mukuchyan (SharonMaItems)
I appreciate you being an advocate for women, but I think this shot doesn’t fully express that. You look great and I think as a whole the shot is solid. Just not what I envisioned.
- Madison Beer (Survivorgame1)
I really love the concept of your shot and how you explained it. This to me is one of your stronger shots. The styling is on point and you ooze confidence.
- Naomi Smalls (Ajathekween)
With the context it makes sense. I do like the shot and the power it signifies. Being naked means being vulnerable. Here you take that and make it your strength.
LUCKY:
- Garrett Neff (Brandonh1)
I was a bit curious about this task, but seeing how you executed it I feel like it’s pretty clever. This show works really well upside down.
- Iveta Mukuchyan (SharonMaItems)
Overall I like the shot in general, but not fully as being upside down. I think this just doesn’t really work well for this shot.
- Madison Beer (Survivorgame1)
You really thought this out and made it work in your favor. I love the reflection being on top as it adds an artistic value to it. The color of your dress is beautiful against the greens.
- Naomi Smalls (Ajathekween)
While I like the shot, you did not flip it upside down - which was the assignment.
I actually really like this shot. I like that you saw my vision when I wanted the shot to be upside down though I agree that It could be more I feel this is beautifully done for the eyes. it's art!
- Naomi Smalls (Ajathekween)
You unfortunately didn't follow what I had in mind when I wanted for the shot to be upside down. Though a nice piece I was looking for more something on the eyes.
- Madison Beer (Survivorgame!)
My breath is literally taken away by how stunning this shot is. I do feel like it was a very smart and nice play on the reflection because however way you turn it this shot could represent upside down being right side up. I think you nailed my task.
- Iveta Mukuchyan (SharonMaltens)
The colors are the first that attracts me and then I gaze into the photo and I'm attracted all throughout. The thing with this shot is I want to look at it rightsize up. I don't know how I am to take that it's a nice piece but upside down I don't think it captures the essence,
JERARD
- Madison Beer (Survivorgame!)
You are advocating women empowerment and through this shot I do get a proud, confident, sexy, YOUNG woman and I think it plays to the part right to the thick of a pizza crust. Good work!
- Garrett Neff (BrandonH1)
As someone who loves the ocean, I agree that our oceans need to be protected. I do feel as if some may view this photo and think its simple and safe but I actually feel the vulnerability and emotion through the photo. The black and white (though you overuse a lot) actually plays off really well here.
- Iveta Mukuchyan (SharonMaltens)
Like Madison you choose Women Empowerment which nothing wrong with that. Yet I do believe and I hate comparing but this is a competition and when you do something similar to another model we notice. Madison's women empowerment is better overall. This shot I'm just not connecting to.
- Naomi Smalls (Ajathekween)
I do think this is a good advocation however the photo I feel is a little raunchy and I'm not liking it. Not a bad photo actually but the idea around it doesn't correspond me but it can change.
