Elva Hsiao as Hannah Baker
http://i.imgur.com/0mzxgDm.jpg This shot represents Hannah's raw vulnerability as a character; the emotion on Elva's face reads as distressed, following Hannah's decline in emotional health. She is looking to the camera from over her shoulder, conveying how proud she is as a character, as if she wants no one to see her crying. Stylistically, I wanted this shot to look as if Elva had actually come back from the brink, hence the wet hair and harsh tear marks across her face. The black and white colouring helps capture the melancholic tone of the photo just as I wanted it to, making the empty space behind Elva seem a lot more present, representing how isolated and alone Hannah must have felt through out the series.
