"Met Gala"

We are continuing the fashion fever with today's theme. The Met Ball formally called the Costume Institute Gala or the Costume Institute Benefit has been attended by personalities from the arts, fashion, high-society, film, and music, thus gaining a huge role in Pop Culture as well.

Your task today is to attend the Ball, you must show in accordance with the theme - but again do not post a PAPARAZZI or any unprofessional shots, by now I think you already know what I mean. Present to us what you would have worn in that year/theme you were given if you have attended the ball.

Cubism is all about mixing shapes and colors in a weird way and making it look stunning. That´s what I´m portraying in this photoshoot. This is probably one of the hardest themes and I need to give it my all!

Sasha Pivovarova - Cubism & Fashion

This prompt was extremely difficult to understand LMAO but I think I pretty much got it right. My understanding of the article is that cubism is a mixture of harsh lines, shapes and structures found in the early 1900s art and the ways in which these shapes and silhouettes have influenced fashion over the years!

So this theme was basically an ode to the first ever creation of the sewing machine and how technology has evolved into the fashion world. Basically when I looked up some photos of what people wore, I saw a bunch of metallic silver and gold basically representing some sort of cyborg and robotic era. So I thought of the 60's where technology was starting to take full force that's when I thought about going as a FEMBOT. Fembots were basically in the movie Austin Powers which to place in the 60's and is a spoof of James Bond. They were there to seduce the main character but where actually robots with machine gun tittles. So I wanted to do a modern take of a fembot while wearing my gold medal and producing that innocent yet hyper-femenine sex appeal.

Here I am styling this beautiful outfit that I incorporated a cross that ofccc represents Catholicism. Although, I don't practice this religion it's great to show some respect by being mindful of not overdoing it or overshadowing this beautiful religion. One thing that Catholics say is that to not dress in a way that becomes a distraction from the work at hand!!!
