Challenge #1

"Taylor Swift"

Hello and welcome to your very first challenge this season. For today's challenge, we're going to do some tribute to the winner of the Next Top Model, Cycle 17: Celebrity Showdown winner, none other than Taylor Swift.

The American singer-songwriter has released 9 original studio albums. And those albums are what will be the focus of today's challenge. What you are going to do is to do your interpretation of the album itself - the songs as a whole, its' era, aesthetics. It's up to you on what extent - to the littlest details or the overall presentation, your interpretation would be.

I will be posting the 9 albums below. It will be first come first pick basis, TWO SLOTS EACH. Which means if you're the third one to pick the album, it is not allowed. You have 24 hours to do the challenge. Goodluck!

He Cong - Folklore

When you think of folklore what's the first thought that comes to your mind? Fairy tales. Something so pure, but at the same time sadly imaginary. A land full of greenery, fairies, flowers and serenity. Here I am channeling that serenity to my shot as this album contains songs that make you feel at ease and one with yourself.

Sasha Pivovarova - Evermore

Evermore is an alternative rock, folk-pop, and chamber rock record. Its subject matter is built around impressionist storytelling and mythopoeia, comprising tales of love, marriage, infidelity, and grief, arranged like an anthology. (Wikipedia)

Usually stated as the sequel to Folklore, Evermore is different in that the album is a bit sadder and more mystical. It conjures the feeling of long lost love and memories forgotten by everyone but you.

The Red album focused primarily on the complexities and complications of romance. I wasn't to display this in my image through the clear chemistry between two individuals who have fallen in love. We see them enthralled with one another in a picturesque setting, however we do not know the backstory of their relationship. Something which I feel links well with many songs on the Red album.

Speak Now was we can say a sequel to Fearless but while Fearless had optimism, Speak Now focuses more on introspection and reflecting as Taylor entered Adulthood.

Much of Speak Now is about romantic themes of love and heartbreak, but Swift abandoned the youthful romantic optimism of Fearless for introspection, facilitated by her growth into adulthood. I went off the mature aspect of her artistry during this era and also the aesthetic of the album and the cover. The flowers to me represent her blooming into her adulthood.

Also the tattoo you see on my arm I feel speaks to this album as well.
"You owe it to yourself, set the world on fire"
So I say speak now and set the world on 🔥 Taylor always seems to find a way to get ppl talking with her music and telling stories about her famous exes.

This shot is heavily inspired by the album cover for Folklore, and also the general tone of the songs in the album. The songs in this album have a very somber tone to them and I am conveying that with my expression on my face.
