Welcome to the fifth performance show. For this round, you will each be submitting two songs. One of the songs will be a song that inspires you and the other will be any Britney Spears song.
Please be sure to MAIL me your submissions. When you mail me your submission, you may also send a reason as to why you picked the song that inspires you (it's not required, but you can if you would like).
The deadline for this round will be Monday, August 20th, at 11:59 PM EST. If you can get them in sooner, that would be great as well. Good luck everyone!!
SPECIAL NOTE: Since I realized I closed the elimination poll of the last round early, Wonderland, RJ, and Akron will all participate in this round. However, to keep things moving a little more quickly, this round will have a triple elimination instead of our usual double (the lowest ranked will be automatically eliminated as usual and the bottom three of the remaining will enter a poll where only one will survive). Sorry for any inconvenience my mistake may have caused. I know this contest is taking a long time. Hopefully things will speed up to finish it out, and everyone can keep participating. Why this song inspires her: I'm trying to make some major changes in my life right now and I just have to keep in mind that this is for me and no one else and no one can stop me but myself.. this song really relates to my situation I guess.
2. GurlBai: "I believe I can" by Yolanda Adams
Why this song inspires him: Ok erm, I'm not gonna type up some cheesy line about how this songs "makes me believe" or some crap LOL, this is one of the songs I love to listen to get my day started, it boosts my confidence for whats to come during the day. Now, this is a huge risk for me because I know a majority of the judges always call me out for over singing, well this was how the original was sung s0z... LOL anyway :p Gl everyone
Why this song inspires him: So my dad is a huge beatles fan, he owns like every beatles album ever, so obviously this had an impact on me. But i also love how they can create such a range of sounds and song types and still pull it off.
I especially chose this song because my dad is nearing the age of sixty four.
Why this song inspires him: I chose this song because I grew up listening to Donna Summer and a lot of '70s music. I was a little disco baby, singing and dancing to the music she made. She was known as the Queen of Disco because of her hits, and as an awkward 8th grader in a new country, her music reminded me of the comfort and happiness and the love that I always feel at home. When she died a few months ago, it broke my heart because my childhood hero had passed away. So this song, which is my all time favorite Donna Summer hit, is dedicated to her and what she did for me and helped me be the fun-loving guy that I am today :)
Why this song inspires him: Michael Buble is an inspiration to me. He is wonderful, and this song in general just builds me up and puts me in a good mood. Whether listening to Micheal sing it or Nina Simone it's just such a powerful song and I love the Michael Buble because it just BUILDS YOU UP and then after the climax, it just let's you relax and breathe and get you back into the swing of things from where you started.
I also wanted to announce that since Emma and SuperJosh haven't been online for a while there will be a couple of new judges added to finish out this season. First of all, the lovely and amazing, Kellyt210, has graciously offered to be a judge for the rest of the season :). There may also be another judge added as well (not confirmed 100% yet). Thanks again for stepping in to judge Kelly :).
Hey guys! As much as I HATE to do it, I am going to have to drop out of the competition! A lot of things going on right now, and I just don't have the time. Soker, that's a good question. Sorry I didn't clarify it earlier. Judges, please rank each category separately (1-6). We will combine the averages for each category to determine where everyone stands altogether.

Wonderland - This was very enjoyable Amy. Well done, some of the higher notes sounded a bit off but overall this was a good performance. I could you really relate to this song because you really seemed into it.
Gurlbai - This was good too! Enjoyable but still some of your notes are a bit overdone, not as much as usual, but still sometimes I think you put too many riffs into it.
Maxiphone - I can tell you have been impacted by the Beetles a lot, seems like that is your go to genre. I do wish sometimes you would travel out of your comfort zone more, but this was still a strong performance. I enjoyed it.
RJ - I liked it for the most part, this was a step up from other weeks. However, I am not sure if this was the best song choice with all the OOOOHS and AHHHHHs cause those sounded really off to me. But you really kept up the energy throughout and it was very enjoyable.
Flameonx - I really commend you for taking a risk and going a cappella! A risky move, but I think you pulled it off nicely here. There was a couple bumps along the road during the performance but over all it was good.
TolisKalkas - Better than I was expecting when I saw you were singing this. Not sure if I like the high notes at the end, but the rest was good. Lots of emotion and enjoyable.
Akron - This was a soft and sweet performance. The high parts were weak tho, I thought maybe you were struggling with them a bit. However, the rest I really enjoyed.
EH looks like people really stepped it up this week, which is a good thing, but doesn't make it easy to judge at all! I liked everyones performances for the first round so sorry if you are lower than you thought you would be :(
Wonderland - UM interesting song choice.... I am just not sold on this performance. I'm not sure if it was the right song choice but I mean with the theme there wasn't much you could do. Also in the middle I am not sure if you skipped a part of something but there was an abrupt stop that sounded a bit odd.
Gurlbai - I was never a fan of this song, and the quality of the of the recording took away from the performance a bit. Some of the higher notes sounded really off, which you don't usually have a problem with. I also think you might have tried to turn this into more of a ballad then its intended to be.
Maxiphone - Oh this song used to be one of my guilty pleasures. The beginning was a bit off to me, but once you got to the chorus I think you picked it up some. Ya the chorus was good and the ending was better, but the other parts weren't great.
RJ - Loves Toxic! This was an interesting version! I loved the music!!! Loved that you went somewhere else with this song, it made it enjoyable. However, I don't think that all the notes were hit. Still a good job and I enjoyed you taking a risk!
Flameonx - Surprisingly good! This isn't the first song I thought you would sing, but I like it. You did well with this! A couple bumps but they didn't take away from the performance, I also really enjoy the little extra at the end :)
TolisKalkas - Oooh another one of my favorites. The chorus was amazing! The beginning was a bit shaky, but after you killed that first chorus it got better. Some parts could have used a bit of work, but overall it was a very good performance!
Akron - Again the high notes are the problem. Other than that I loved how you sounded in the song, it was sexy and flirty. But the upper registry really didn't work. You are strong with songs that are lower and don't involve as many high notes.
