Firstly, I'd like to congratulate you girls on making it to the final 13! After 9 successful cycles, I am still looking for the next supermodel to grace Tengaged. This is one of the longest-running group games on Tengaged (and was famously endorsed by randomize back in the day) so you really should appreciate this experience (even if it isn't a big deal on the website anymore lol). With that, I wish you all the best of luck in the competition.
Above is a link to the 'House' thread. Here you may chat with one another about anything that you wish, and post confessionals regarding your experience in the competition. Furthermore, challenges may be held, or the results of them posted in this thread. Throughout the competition, I will post guidance for each individual model, and maybe the judges will too.
+ + THE CHALLENGE + +
For your first challenge I thought I'd start off easy. You may or may not have noticed, but the general colour theme for this cycle's intro was BLUE, and as you all know colours are often used to portray emotions. For your first challenge, I want you each to submit a photograph that best conveys the colour blue in your eyes. Additionally you MUST submit a short explanation as to why you chose that photograph, and explain how it displays the emotion of 'blue'. The girl who wins the challenge, will not only have less chance of being eliminated this week, but will also win a special prize to be revealed later.
+ + PHOTO SHOOT + +
Last Cycle, we dropped the girls off at the deep end in the first week with a very controversial photo shoot, and this year we are doing the exact same. While it was once commonplace to do so, smoking has seen a huge decrease in popularity in recent years, however is often still used as an accessory within the fashion world. For your shoot this week, you must submit a photograph in which the model is smoking/holding a cigarette. Many large fashion houses have used cigarettes in their advertising campaigns, so it shouldn't be too hard to find photos; however, there are some requirements to the photographs, which are listed below.
If you are ever struggling to find photos, or need guidance at all throughout the competition, my fellow judges and I are always willing to help, so don't be afraid to message us individually if you're worried about being sent home.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must NOT be a beauty shot (shoulders up) - we want to see your gorgeous bodies!
+ Must feature a cigarette (obviously).
+ Photos from ANTM seasons will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
+ Photos from previous TNTM seasons will be penalised, however as this game has been going on for so long, I will let you know if a photo has been used previously, and allow you time to change your photograph.
+ No runway photos will be tolerated under any circumstances unless specified.
If you are having trouble finding high fashion photos either:
1. Search for editorials from fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, I-D, L'Officiel etc.
2. Search for fashion models such as Lara Stone, Gemma Ward, Cara Delevigne, Liu Wen, Daria Werbowy, Joan Smalls etc.
3. Search for designers such as Versace, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Vera Wang, Miu Miu etc.
+ + VOGUE GIRL + +
Vogue Girl is always a controversial part of the competition, and is often the difference between staying in the competition and going home. Each week, a poll will be put up with all of the girls on it, for the public to vote on. The winner of the poll will have a significantly less chance of going home that week and in the entire process.
I do the Vogue Girl polls as it allows me to not only see who is popular with the public (which is important as a role model), but if choosing to spam, shows your heart and dedication for this competition, something which I greatly appreciate. Once again, the
I do the Vogue Girl polls as it allows me to not only see who is popular with the public (which is important as a role model), but if choosing to spam, shows your heart and dedication for this competition, something which I greatly appreciate. Once again, the result of this poll DOES and WILL have an effect on eliminations, so I urge you all to take it seriously.
+ + DEADLINE + +
The deadline for both the challenge and the photo shoot is Midnight EST, Sunday the 14th August. Any photos not posted by this point, or posted after the deadline will be heavily penalised.
Challenge: http://imgur.com/a/PyfSS
I wanted to convey that blue can represent love as well as sadness, to me this photo represents love with the blue petals in the bath which connotes romance.
Challange: http://data.whicdn.com/images/22684314/original.jpg
For me "blue" is the colour trust, calmness and serenity. Light blue is the colour of water and the sky, so it generally give me a refreshing and free feeling. I chose this photo for the exact opposite reason. Here we see a Dark Blue. Seeing it we feel a mysterious feeling of power and knowadge, integrity and seriousness.
To represent what blue means to me, I am submitting this picture. When some people are asked to describe what blue conveys to them in an emotion they will think “sadness.” To me blue represents limitlessness – both the ocean and the sky are a never-ending blanket of blue to our eyes. To me this translates to blue representing “opportunity” because if the sky goes grey on you one day, it will be blue for you another. My photo shows a vast open blue sky, but with clouds to represent the struggles that get in the way of seeing things in a truly positive light. I also thought the woman reaching up to the sky showed a connection between her and the emotion I’ve described above.
When i think blue, i think the water. It where we start, and it is all around us. I think the blue and water represents tranquility which I am displaying in this photo!
Challenge: In the photo I've chosen, blue is not representative of sadness, but confidence in your body. My eyes are conveying confidence and sensuality in hopes that my positive vibes will spread to everyone watching :)
