Main Event 3 (12 remain) – DOWN WITH THE KING
This challenge is about quick thinking and deduction. This challenge is called Down with the King and here is how it works. This will be played in 2 secret teams. The two teams are the ROYAL COURT and the REVOLUTION.
Within the Royal Court there is:
A KING, A QUEEN, 2 LOYAL DUKES, 1 ROYAL ASSASSIN
Within the Revolution there is:
A REVOLUTIONARY, A POLITICAL AIDE, 4 PEASANTS, 1 REVOUTIONARY SPY
This game everyone will be secretly informed of their randomised role. The various roles will grant different powers.
ROYAL COURT
KING – Will know the names of all the players in the Royal Court (Queen/Dukes/Assassin and Spy) but not who is who.
QUEEN – She is the only one who knows the KING’s True Identity
DUKES – They only know the name of the QUEEN
ASSASSIN – The only member of the Royal Court who knows the name of the REVOLUTIONARY and works deep undercover in the Revolution
REVOLUTION
REVOLUTIONARY – Will know the names of all the players of the Revolution (Political Aide/Peasants/Spy/Assassin but not who is who.
POLITICAL AIDE – The only one who knows the REVOLUTIONARY’s True Identity
PEASANTS – They only know the names of the other PEASANTS
SPY – The spy secretly knows the name of the QUEEN and works deep undercover in the Royal Court.
The power of the Royal Court is influence meaning that they know potentially more powerful information, but it is difficult to access and have a player disadvantage. The Revolution may have less sheer power but with good teamwork the information should be easier to spread through the team.
The primary goal of this game is to either Kill the KING or to Kill the REVOLUTIONARY. This game will take place over many rounds. There will be a poll every 3 minutes which will be up for 3 minutes. You will each vote for who you want to see executed. The player with the most votes after the poll closes will be executed. You will not be told what his or her role was in the game (unless they were the KING/REVOLUTIONARY, and the game is over). We will keep doing polls until one of them is dead. Ultimately this is a game of trust and effective information sharing. It is about finding allies without giving too much info away.
The team whose leader stays alive the longest will be considered the winners and are all safe even if they have died in the process. If you are on the winning team and have survived though you will earn 2 Garnets and the leader will earn 5. The Winning team will then vote for one member of the losing team to face elimination and then that player will select one of their fellow teammates to face them in the Elimination Duel. Good luck.
