This series takes place behind-the-scenes of the live reality singing competition "Teen Pop Idol Sensation," where our characters are contestants working with professionals at Kizzy Star Records to create hit songs that compete for streams with the other acts.
*Please note: this is NOT an actual competition. This is a roleplay series about a show within a show. There will be scripted storylines and the competition will be fixed to fit the plot.*
Below is the application form. The characters should be newer/novice artists whose careers have yet to take off -- but now have the chance to compete to sign with Kizzy Star Records and launch their careers into superstardom. As the name implies, the characters should be teens (aged 16-19) that sing some variation of pop music. You can apply as a solo artist or collaborate with other roleplayers to apply as a group act.
For the series you will choose a "Cover Artist" that represents your characters sound/music. Your characters Cover Artist must remain the same throughout the show. Please include a video link to a song of your Cover Artist with your application.
Name: MONA

Bio: Charlie Tanner, known professionally as MONA, is an aspiring pop star born and raised in Los Angeles, California. MONA has always written her own music, even if it's embellished with auto-tune, and is mostly known online for her dreamy, bedroom pop aesthetic. She auditioned for Teen Pop Idol Sensation to prove to herself and everyone else that she is worth her salt. MONA has a soft spirit and is anti-competitive by nature, but the producers behind-the-scenes have been pushing her to stand up and stand out as the Live Shows approach, leaving her feeling way out of her comfort zone. Although she has already garnered a small fan base on the show, MONA is beginning to fear change as the producers shape her in their image and the pressure around her builds.

Bio: Although she was born in South Korea, Estelle was raised in Chicago after her parents immigrated to America when she was 3. Raised by MTV and Bella Donna's Greatest Hits, Estelle fell in love with pop music and singing. As a teenager it became apparent that Estelle was a multifaceted performer. Her parents relocated with her to LA and got her a talent agent at age 16. She had little success, until recently: her agent got wind from one of his contacts that Kizzy Star Records was trying to put together a kpop group. After pulling some strings Estelle was streamlined into an audition and automatically cast for the kpop group BLOOM. After gaining a huge following on kpop twitter following the pre-taped shows, Estelle is confident BLOOM can take her to the top of the charts and bring her one step closer to being a household name.

The day after her 18th birthday, Rikki decided it was time to really set out on her own. Well, not entirely on her own, she needed some cash obviously. Swiping a suitable amount from her parents' stash (they'd blow it off as a forgotten night out), she packed her bags and headed to the heart of LA. Rikki has been producing music from her small studio apartment ever since. Her folky pop sound has generated a small following on SoundCloud and she's decided now is the time to take her music into the mainstream.

Bio: Hailing from Germany, Oliver is a outgoing young man persuing his ultimate dream; to become one of the most popular music artists of his time. Although a bit delusional at times, Oliver strives for greatness and likes to hype himself up a lot, even when he is wrong. He moved to LA to get started when he was 19 and started building his reputation with multiple gigs a week and pushing out a few of EPs and singles. A few of his songs have actually been quite popular and viral on TikTok, however he has not gotten a lot of recognition for the songs themselves as they've mostly been apart of different trends going on. However in love with his success on TikTok, a producer on T.P.I.S. contacted him about the show, in which he gladly accepted. He wants to become the next big star, and with a show like this he'll definitely get the chance to do just that and present himself off to the world.

Wendy is a nice girl who sits back and watches. She’s quiet, she’s the best friend. She’s the audience at home. At least that’s how she wants people to see her because she knows that’s what people want. Truthfully Wendy doesn’t know who she is outside of her guitar and her songs no one has heard.
Wendy has been trying to make it as a sing songwriter since she was sixteen and has been writing songs since she was 10. She has been unable to get the success she wants and has decided to audition for Teen Pop Idol Sensation as a last ditch effort to make it big and prove her parents wrong.
