I joined Tengaged 15 years ago. (March 23rd was the exact date)

Idk why, but the date March 23rd has always stayed in my mind as the day I joined this site. Maybe because Tengaged was a major part of my latter childhood years. I kind of want to tell the story of how I discovered Tengaged, why I left and what I’ve been up to lately. I know many people may not read this, but for those who are interested, here we go:
On March 23, 2009, I created my Tengaged account. I was 14 years old, and I had just gotten into Big Brother the year prior with Big Brother 10 airing. But before we talk about that, we need to go ALLLLL the way back to 2007. I was an avid Sims player. I used to play these online games people put together using The Sims 2. They ranged from Survivor and Big Brother games to America’s Next Top Model and The Mole games. They were very fun, and I had made so many friends.
However, in 2008 the online Sims games community started to slow down, and by time The Sims 3 came out in 2009 it was completely dead. Some people still tried to make online games, but the magic was all gone. However, after literally googling “online big brother game”, Tengaged was one of the first sites to come up. I made an account and joined my first game, a 20 person Casting game. I told some of my friends from The Sims site about Tengaged and a few of them joined as well around that time.
As mentioned before, I was 14 when joining Tengaged. I was finishing out my 8th grade year and starting high school in the fall. I spent so much time on Tengaged; if you go to my earlier games, you’ll see that I played a lot in my first year. I joined my first Stars game in August 2009. It was Stars 39 and I believe I was only a red level when joining. I was here when Survivor was first added, and I played in the first game where someone who was being voted out decided to eat all the food before leaving lol. I played in a few Duel games in 2010 before it was fully removed and I also played in one Hunger Games back in 2013.
I left Tengaged mainly because I got older, and once I started college and started working I just never really had time to play. Also, Tengaged turned into an ugly place at one point. I’m not sure how it is today, but at one point there was nothing but negativity here and I just didn’t want to be apart of it. I played my last game in 2015. I was 20 years old and by then I was just kinda over it.
I’ve toyed around with the idea of playing a Stars game a few yeara ago. The story would be crazy. The last Stars game I played was Stars 127 in April 2011. Playing my first Stars game in over a decade would be insane. However, this is where my current life update comes into play: I am just way too busy. I am now 29 years old, turning 30 in October; I have a full-time 9-5 corporate job and I have a (small) Youtube channel. I moved to a new state a little over 2 years and I’m still trying to get my bearings.
Even though I’ll possibly never play another game again or be apart of this site consistently, I still hold Tengaged close to my heart as a site that I had a lot of fun with as a kid. I met so many people here as well, most of them being long gone and I haven’t heard from them in years. I hope they’re all doing well.

I’m barely on Tengaged anymore and it’s crazy how March 23rd has been engraved in my brain as the day I joined. At the time, I was 14 years old and I had just watched BB10 a year prior and got addicted and wanted to find something online similar. And Tengaged popped up.
At the time there was only Casting, Rookies and Stars. No Survivor. No Hunger Games. No Duel (el oh el). Just the three basic games in their three basic iterations. No “fasting” or “frookies.” I was ADDICTED from day one. Little ole me was so excited about playing these games, earning T$ and karma and leveling up. I joined my first Stars (Stars 39) as a red level. I didn’t do so hot (I got 9th lol) but it was just hella exciting.
I made some great friends on here, many of them now long and gone. But those many late night Skype calls I’ll never forget, and I wish somehow I could track all of them down and talk to them and catch up. I know they’ll never see this but its the Original Amigos 4 life (@xAdam93x, Bonkers, SummerLilly, AlyKat!)
I don’t want this to be to drawn out, but Tengaged was a huge part of my teenage years. Here I am now, 24 years old, graduated from University last May, moved into my first apartment in January. Still working a pretty sh*tty job, but I’m working at least lol. I know randomize has gotten a lot of crap in recent years about the site, but I just want to thank him for creating something that’s truly amazing. I know a lot of crazy shit and crazy people are here now (lol, we need a lil crazy sometimes) but sometimes we just have to stop and think about how truly great Tengaged was and is. Especially for those of us who has been around for years.
