To me, they are kind of pointless
Like I can see where people are getting when they wanna protest for a better world
But like what is this actually going to stop
Most people that do them just do it to get out class
Then the people that say they actually care get pissed at those who just want to get out of class and make a whole scene out of it
I do think there should be more restrictions and way harder to get a gun but like I don’t think guns are the real issues. Like guns were made for protection and I do agree the school shooting stuff has gone WAY out of hand! That’s not the guns fault, it’s the persons fault. But I just don’t see what a 30 minute protest is going to do to change the way the world works. No matter what guns will most likely be an issue until the end of the world. You know, it’s just kind of how the world is and how violence will never end. Sorry to say it but that’s the truth yes

I understand the whole “they do it to get out of class” argument, but that’s not the case for a big chunk of students. Hell, there was a school in one of the southern states that was closed the day if the walk out and the students still showed up to protest.
It creates a conversation. It also forces politicians and the government to see how it’s acting the lives of students, the future of our country. It’s important.
I see where you’re coming from, but I view it in a different light.
I can give you an overwhelming case about why we cannot use heavier background checks, if that answers your question.
You stated it should be harder to get a gun, assuming you mean w/ background checks I can give 1000 reasons why that’s a bad idea, but if you meant something different please elaborate.
I think people being more aware of their surroundings would be the best solution. If people are taught the skills needed in a situation like these, then I’m sure fatalitities and injuries would decrease significantly. I mean absolutely you can put a metal detector outside, but if Someone wants to get a gun into a school that badly theyll find a way... so it’s kinda pointless.
The walkouts are aimed at getting congressmen/congresswomen to pass legislation about it, I agree it’s stupid. Congress only cares about the lobbyists.
