ALL of my tables were absolute hot messes however one shining moment occured when i grabbed a check with a card for a table and this gentleman goes
“you know… you really lost track of our table for a WHILE there, we had to ask someone else about our dessert!”
me, who just had to get the dessert refired because the runner dropped it on the wrong table: you know what… youre right sir absolutely sir i apologize for that sir
(which was genuine i ignored them for a bit but everything went smooth other than them having to wait a bit for like evwrything basically lol)
(the KEY is to always be as impersonal as possible while being professional to show that you care just enough but also that nothing they say will affect you)
me 30 seconds later with the check pr-oh-cesses: youre all set and by the way the gratuity is included on this one =] *insert blog pic*
then i look around and my coworker is in literal tears over a different table whew today was a mess
