I just had THE weirdest interaction

Jul 15, 2021 by splozojames50
imageat a thrift store today. there i was looking through the books to find something to flip on ebay and this man that looks easily 50 comes up to me. he started a casual conversation about if i liked reading and so i was like "uh yeah sure", not wanting to admit that im just finding shit to sell online. the conversation quickly escalated when he asked me if my sandals were comfortable and being really awkward and only just realizing where this was headed i continued to give this person my attention.

He then told me i had nice feet... followed by asking if he wanted to give me some weird massage that i had never heard of before. I declined and he asked for my number and I also declined and said i was #busy and immedietely paid for my 2 books, and the copy of a doom and carmen sandiego game i found and left. looking back to make sure this man wasnt following me. I was and still am in awe and i have never felt more like julie in the pic attatched to this blog ever in my life.

splozojames50 i mean when i first heard about it i thought it was a super smart way to make money but after looking into it its super unethical. Thrift stores are meant for lower class people and when people who aren't as financially unstable as them go into thrift stores and buy up everything to make a quick buck off it, it leaves less for who the store is actually meant for and it also raises the prices. Books aren't AS bad but there's a huge problem with these depop girls who just buy anything cute or trendy and sell it for 20x the price, thats not right.

fetish even after the flippers pick through stuff, theres piles and piles of clothes, books, and dvds left, more than the stores can process. on top of that the obviously valuable stuff isnt even put in the store itself anymore as goodwill has its own ebay auction site that they use to sell things for 20x the price it would be on their shelves.
