I've been playing a Big Brother group game hosted by TheRoseHorse.
For weeks two players have been using offensive language in our group skype chat.
I left it alone for a while and tried not to get involved.
However, I find the C-word sexist and repulsive.
Finally, I decided that I would just let them know it was making me uncomfortable, and I was pretty sure they would stop.
Unfortunately, they didn't.
They continued to use that type of language in the group chat, and other players began reminding them that they were making me uncomfortable and that I was offended, but they STILL continued.
I want to say right now that regardless of your intentions if you say something and another person is offended, THEY ARE ALLOWED TO FEEL THAT WAY.
People's feelings are valid.
One person, in particular, escapethenight13, went on to call me a drama queen for even bringing it up.
Having a reaction to a historically offensive word is not being a drama queen.
Continuing to use offensive language in public spaces after someone has asked you nicely to say it in a private chat if you must continue using it, is disgusting. Grow up.
I will not be bullied and harassed because I don't want to continue hearing use the C-Word in a skype chat.

If you don't know me, Hi! I'm Emily! I'm a full-time teacher's aide in a preschool classroom in Boston and am currently in school furthering my education to hopefully become a lead teacher. I'm still on the white color level but I've been playing group games and I'm having a blast.
I've already met so many awesome people and can't wait to see how many more are out there!
This whole COVID and societal unrest situation we are all in is BEYOND depressing and fucked up- I'm glad we all have this platform to distract ourselves a bit.
That being said, I want to take this moment to express the importance of educating yourself on topics like public health, race, and systematic oppression.
It is our job to do everything we can to change the future!
Black Lives Matter, Science is REAL, and people with identities that historically hold power in society have a responsibility to do all they can to create change.
