Match 3 Problem

Oct 19, 2009 by malik0
In Match 3, if you are left with a board with no possible solutions left, all you can do is watch the timer go down and try to look for solutions which aren't there.

I propose that in these cases, there is an auto-scramble which enables you to keep playing - right now it is luck based if you come across this problem and, IMO, unfair, since you can't make use of the remaining time.  If this is too hard to code, perhaps at least give us the option to reset the board once.

This may have been posted before, but I really want to see it fixed so Match 3 can become a balanced game.  Thanks!

If you reset the board to the same difficulty at the start of each game, you almost gain an advantage, the further you go in, the less moves there is. So it would then be good to have no moves, if you can reset.

I've seen other versions of this game that have that scramble option, so I think it wouldn't be that hard to code!

when no more moves are left i think the game should say: OUT OF MOVES
and the game ends

Yea, kinda like snooker you have to plan for the move ahead. Makes the game more challenging then just Matching three over and over again until the time goes don't you think?
Almost no skill involved other then the skill of eyesight. And the ability to count to 3. I'm sure there are numerous ways in which there will always be a move. And also some ways were there won't be.
