When it comes to alliances should it matter if your gay or not?

I'm in an alliance with a group of people. One of my alliance members comes to me with a PM stating that one of my other members is gay.
The alliance member also sent the PM discussion he was having with the gay member disclosing the members sexuality to me (which I think is wrong)
The member that sent it to me has admitted that they are a homophobic person.

With messages going back and forth I realise that this person will probably try and have my gay alliance member voted out.

Little did the homophobic person realise I am GAY and I will fight for the person.
