There’s like 2 scenes that I think are excellent, but everything else feels uninspired.
The cinematography is up and down. When it’s good, it’s good!
There are a few good kills - although I think they could have pushed it further in some areas.
I’m not gonna sit here and be like “blah- it’s so bad blah blah blah.”
Being able to analyze why you think something is bad is an important skill. Just saying something is bad or good is kinda ridiculous. lmao
Anyway overall I think this is still only a 2.5/5 for me. I had fun at times, but I still think we are waiting for the Texas chainsaw remake or reboot that will reimagine the franchise into something for a new generation.
the first half was solid! the bus scene was the downfall of the movie for me, it was a bit much. just people dying.... like okay.... catherine deserved better she was smarter than that...
sally added nothing overall? she was just another plotline to keep the movie going!
the characters were solid for the most part! a bit bland, but i expected worse!
lila had a horrible arc though, a school shooting survivor tries to save the day by picking up a gun like.....
but yeah! not that bad but also not that good, i don't think it should get a sequel unless it takes a new direction.
turkeylover were you a fan of Texas chainsaw 3D (2013)? I find that movie to be the better version of this. Like I like the dark versions of Texas chainsaw (original and 2003 remake) but I can appreciate the campy/silly fun versions (2013/2022).
