BrainJak The reason why gun control doesn't work in cities in America is because I can get in my car and go to the next city 30 minutes away and by a new gun without my cities strict laws. People always love to cite how Chicago a city with more gun control has more gun related deaths. First it is a highly populated city so deaths of any kind will occur in more frequency. Couple with the fact I can cross border or cross city lines and avoid gun control laws in a time period of 15 minutes means unless we have nearly universal gun control laws existing gun control laws might do little to nothing. Easy to circumvent my cities gun control laws when I take a 30 minute trip to the next city and buy my AR-15 in Walmart. The reason it works in countries is because they are universal laws enforced everywhere.

you still need to follow all the regulations of purchasing a gun, just because you go to a different city doesnt mean you can pick one up at Wal-mart for 9.99

Sam_Hamwich Yes it does lmao. Gun laws can be on state and city levels. Meaning that if your city of Chicago has strict laws you can go into your next municipality and circumvent the laws. Since you are an American citizen you arnt subject only to the laws of your city wholly only when you reside in them. This is basic domestic public policy taught in freshman level poli sci classes
you still need a background check wherever you go, you still can't get a gun if you're mentally unstable, or a felon, or have a past history of aggression. These are baseline establishments when buying a gun, which I can assume you've never done. You cannot go to any Wal-mart and pick a gun up off the shelf koolness234
Sam_Hamwich Why would you make that assumption. My dad has two guns and my family in the north has multiple guns and I have shot them and used them in firing ranges. I have even taken a concealed carried class and debated buying one for my protection in College. I know how the process works. First gun laws are subject to city and state laws. The Trump administration signed a bill making it easier for mentally disabled people or mentally ill people to purchase guns. Furthermore once you purchase an AR-15 in most cities and states you do not have to bass a background check again to buy multiple. Some of these checks will remain valid for years. Meaning someone mentally stable now could purchase them legally even though they are now mentally ill. Also you do not need legal permission to have someone modify the gun so it is easier to fire and you can shoot more round offs in a minute by altering the trigger.
