How many more have to die

Dec 14, 2012 by jb237613
for some of you to realize this country has a problem with gun violence?

Comments

Alcohol related deaths are far higher then gun related deaths per year...
Just because gun related deaths are on the news people want to rage and complain about it.
Guns have a practical use too - Self defense.
Alcohols practical use?

So if you want to have a big problem with deaths in the states how about you concern yourself with something that kills more... and not just the one that makes the most news..
Just saying... jb237613

nadar, i favor stiffer DUI/DWI laws. Regardless though, people shouldn't have to fear sending their kids to school or fear going into a movie theater because the violence is pushing the limits and it isnt a contained problem anymore.

Also I'd like to add... The number of fatal violence in the united states in 2011 was the lowest it has been in FOUR DECADES... So clearly the problem is getting fixed already.
Complain about something that gets WORSE every year(alcohol) not something that has been improving.

jb237613 the movie theater incident was illegal weapons first of all that could happen anywhere. (Nothing to do with gun laws)

There were also tens of thousands of deaths on 9/11 that had nothing to do with guns... Should we be afraid to go to work according to your logic of one or two isolated incidents?

nadar, don't bring 911 into this. that was a terrorist act where they found means way more effective than guns to inflict massive damage.

there have been more mass shootings the past few years than there were in any other time in US history. singular incidents may be down, which is good. but lets not assume that you need an AR15 for self defense...you don't....

Lol and something else I just found out...
The rate of home invasions in the UK is almost triple what it is in the US per year.
So people in the UK may not have these isolated incidents every year or so with guns...
But on the other hand EVERY SINGLE YEAR in the UK triple the amount of homes get broken into then in the US. And the population in the US is higher then the UK... so that says alot.

nadar, UK is the thief capital of the world. London is where pickpocketing was invented. Guns or no guns people are still going to find ways to steal your shit over there.
