I DID IT!!

Jul 1, 2013 by dfalc7
After 30 crazy days, tons of hidden immunity idol paranoia, multiple blindsides, and 37 snuffed torches I am sitting here in the finals of Survivor: BT - The Shifting Isles!

The game started off strong, with Dono revealing a CRAZY twist - there would be a tribe swap before EVERY challenge. I thought I was doomed at that point. I had no idea how I could trust people with alliances constantly forming and breaking up because of the swaps. However, I decided to put all of my trust in Rumtin and it paid off.

Rumtin invited me into an alliance with Losa (losangelesgirl), Nathan (Dryerfish) and Michael (pennerisabeast). The first ten days went pretty smoothly for us. We were consistently the best performers in the immunity challenges, which meant we were captains for each tribe swap and got to pick our tribe mates. Losa, Rumtin, and I were mostly able to stay on the same tribe together and control the votes. Michael ended up betraying Losa and was voted off but the rest of us stuck together. After voting off DJ (coolexchangestudent) there were only 10 of us left and we all assumed the merge was coming. However, we were in for a surprise.

Dono revealed that Link (themissinglink) was hosting a season called The Shifting Isles at the exact same time as our season with the exact same twists. The 10 finalists of each season were going to merge together to create a new season of 20 people! We were all pretty shocked and a lot of people felt upset and gipped out of the merge, but we all ended up sticking it out and fighting even harder.

The new tribes were a mix of 5 old Bermuda players and 5 old Shifting Isles players. Both tribes were going to tribal council that night. I was able to win individual immunity so I was safe from the vote that night. With the votes tied 5 vs. 5 we needed to find a way to get one of them out. The five Bermuda players on the tribe banned together (Losa, Rumtin, Tadds, Nathan, and I) and came up with a plan to get Ismail (Walkerbait) to waste his idol by making him think we were voting for him. In the end the plan was a success - Walker wasted his idol, Mikayla (mikaylalemon) went home because TheWaffle on their tribe didn't vote, and we had all the power.

After that our tribe completely dominated in the challenges and didn't have to go to tribal until the merge. In a shocking turn, the merge happened at the final 15. However, TheWaffle was medically evacuated so that left 14 people - 11 for jury and 3 in finals. The first couple votes were easy - The old Bermuda players outnumbered the Shifting Isles players and so Ismail, Jacob (BOBROCKS), Ty (TyTy), and Slim (therealslimshady) went home one after another.

Once it was down to final 10 things got really exciting. At this point I could kind of tell that I was in a bad position. I talked to my core alliance of four, and while I always trusted Rumtin, it seemed that Nathan and Losa were not planning on going to finals with me. And my fears were confirmed when Nathan came to me and told me what was really going on.

Nathan and Losa had been in a separate alliance most of this game with AJ (jflora), Missy (missalice3), and Tadds. They were conspiring to take me, Rumtin, and Felix (Fern111) out at final 9. However, Losa and AJ had turned on Nathan because he seemed most likely to win the game. Betrayed by his closest allies, Nathan came to me and gave me new life in the game. We came up with a pretty brilliant plan to blindside AJ. Together with Rumtin, Felix, and Chip (one of the last two remaining Shifting Isles players) we were able to vote out AJ with an idol in his pocket! I took a lot of criticism for it but I don't regret it.

Unfortunately at the next vote Felix flipped over to Losa's side and Nathan was blindsided. That was the point where I completely lost all trust in Felix and put a plan on the backburner to blindside him.

The next vote was very stressful. Losa knew she was in the hot seat so she took her anger out on us and said some pretty mean things. Her outbursts made it that much easier to vote her out though. Missy knew she could not beat Losa in finals so she came over to our side and gave us the numbers to get rid of her.

After Losa's departure, Rumtin and I really held most of the power. We voted out Jen, who had been pretty volatile the whole season, and then finally my plan to blindside Felix came into motion. I received criticism from both of them for the blindsides but I knew it was the best move for my game.

Now at final 5 things got tricky. I personally wanted to go to final 3 with Rumtin (who had been my one true ally the whole game) and Tadds (who I had developed a bond with towards the end of the game). However, Rumtin, Missy, and Chip all wanted Tadds gone so there was nothing I could do and I had to vote with them to take her out.

Our last blindside was Chip and he was not happy about it. He was a really great guy and had been very loyal but he would have been very hard to beat in finals so we all decided it was best he go.

So here I am now sitting beside Rumtin and Missy in finals. Many say we don't deserve to be here and have many negative, harsh things to say about us but I think all three of us played amazing games. After all, we outlasted 37 people to get here in one of the most epic Survivor seasons I've seen on this site. I hope the jury can get over what I had to do to get to where I am and vote me to win Dono and Link's SURVIVOR: BT - THE SHIFTING ISLES!

Oh really? Oops lol that was the vote where I was gone all day so missed all the strategizing. Well either way I didn't want to go against Rumtin since I trusted him the most
