imageI know this is yesterday's news, but I finally had time to type this after celebrating and reflecting. After almost 14 years, Britney Spears is finally free from her conservatorship.  After fighting for over 2 years, we did it. It was over.

I am a huge Britney Spears fan and I have been since 1999. However, I became a stan when in 2008 For the Record came out, and she discussed how in control her life was and how it made her sad. My heart broke for her.

Last year, I found out that fans were protesting at the courthouse over her conservatorship. In July 2020, I went to my first rally. There were maybe 30 fans. The next month when I went again, there were even less. We were called conspiracy theorists and made fun of.

After the documentary came out in February, there started to be more attention on the issue, and it absolutely exploded in June when Britney spoke publicly for the first time on the issue. In total, I went to 6 rallies and 2 protests. So when yesterday it was announced that it was over, I couldn't believe it. I celebrated and jumped and cheered with hundreds of Britney fans outside the courthouse. We got to pop pink confetti in the air and dance to "Till the World Ends". This woman finally got her rights back.

I'm so happy for her. I wish Britney Spears nothing but happiness and that she is free to live her life the way she wants to and make mistakes like all humans make without the scrutiny of the media. I can't believe it's finally over. #FreedBritney
