I can't believe it's been 20 years. May the thousands of people that died on that day rest in peace. Thank you to the first responders and the rescue dogs that day who helped save others. Thank you to those who cleared the debris, some who are STILL sick from the diseases they developed, like cancer. (The EPA stated it wasn't safe to go through the rubble, but everyone else was saying it was). I hope they are given the health attention they deserve. And may the civilians overseas who died as a result of war also rest in peace. And I am so sorry to the people that had to experience islamaphobia because of this tragedy.
I remember seeing a documentary once where a man's daughter had died in the towers and he called into the news on 9/11 and begged them to stop showing the towers falling as it was so traumatic for him while his daughter was missing. That broke me. I feel for anyone who may be affected having to witness that today.
I am expecting to be negged for this blog, but I don't care. Some people have been making jokes, which I don't know if these kids were born after the event or are trying to be edgy or whatever, but it doesn't make you look cool. Real people were affected by this.
