What is the best way to increase your apple percentage thing.

My friends thing gets up really quick and mine goes so slow does anyone have any tips to help me get to the health he has.

P.S he has 79 health on his 4th day of the game and mine is only 40 health on the 4th day AND his only caught 1 apple =]
