Download paint.net
You find an image, preferably one with an even coloured background, like not lots of different colours, if you're a beginner
Paste it into paint.net
Get the magic wand and make the tolerance roughly 24
Click on the background, then click delete.
The background should all go black.
Get the eraser and erase all the black
It should go checkered.
That means that bit is transparent.
Then save it
Open this http://www.tengaged.com/files/AvatarTemplate_PUBLIC.pdn , then right click on the writing and click save page as.
Then open it in paint.net
Take the top or hair off, depending on what u r making, in the box near the bottom.
Then click layers at the top, and click import layer (i think) or add new layer
Size it right so it fits the avatar
Click ctrl and c to copy
Then click new at the top
make it 200 by 230
click ctrl and v for paste
then get the magic wand and click the white. it should go black again. erase the background again to make it transparent.
then save it as a png file
(i'm 99% sure this is correct but don't have paint.net downloaded at the moment to check)
then upload onto desi
