Ok so time for our first eviction. 3 people were up and time to see who will receive immunity.
Hotdog - Music decent, Vocals AMAZING, ummm would've liked more presentation, the low notes got lost but the higher register definitely made up for the lower register, overall great performance.
Presumed - Vocals are great, music great, overall great song, a little bit too many fade away at the end of each phrase which kinda made it really wavey and kinda uneasy at times, but overall great performance
Saaremaa - Very happy song, vocals not very strong, music very happy and lyrics really funny. a great song and very fun. overall good song
Based on your performance this week, I have decided that the person who will receive immunity is Presumed! Congratulations. Now onto the results for the eviction.
With 36.8% of the votes, I'm sorry saaremaa but you have been eliminated. Sorry to see you go so early in the competition.
Onto the judging of the remaining contestants
Pepsi - Vocals amazing, lyrics very good, music very good, everything mixes really well. Really good performance. Everything just works in this song.
Lemon - Music really good, not too overbearing on the vocals, the vocals are also pretty good. In general a great song and a great performance.
Tataki - Vocals decent, the amount of falsetto makes it seem like a children's song, the music is really choppy, it's a decent song overall though
Amylou - vocals great, music is great, lyrics are so uplifting, everything works really well together. Great song.
Jawshii - vocals are dec, music dec, work well with each other, nothing too special, overall above decent song.
Braga - Vocals are great but everytime i hear it it makes me feel like I need to shower, music is good but a little bit overpowering the vocals. overall a good song, nothing too special
Hatsuki - Vocals great in the refrain, but lost in the chorus, music very mellow, it mixes really well nothing is too much or too little. overall great song
Pisces - Vocals good, music good, BLEND REALLY WELL, overall a great song
(sorry these are getting shorter, this is the 3rd time i'm writing some of these because dorm internet is horrible)
Kris - Vocals aren't really good, but for some reason are REALLY intriguing and just work so well with the amazing music that it's a great song
Nelson - Vocals great, MUSIC AMAZING!, GREAT CHOICE! and everything just works so well together. Amazing song
Hella - Vocals great, music a little bit to soft for the vocals, overall a good song, but nothing too special.
The bottom 3 (in alphabetical order) are : Braga, Hella, and Tataki ... it was a really close call the past two weeks because you guys have all been picking great songs (even though I'm being a little overcritical in judging)
Since we are in the UK, let's make a stop at London and visit West End. For those who don't know what West End is, it's the UK's Broadway. So for this challenge we are looking for a song from a musical (remember you don't have to find original artists, if you like a cover better than the actual singers feel free to post it)
Ok so time for our first eviction. 3 people were up and time to see who will receive immunity.
Braga - Probably one of greatest remakes of a song. Musically really up and about, some voices aren't as strong as others but overall a great song.
Hella - Vocals amazing, musically the song is stunning, and everything mixes really well. There really isn't any part of the song that seems out of place and everything is just so stunning and amazing that after listening to it, it's hard not to stand there without having your mouth wide open.
Sprts - It's a good song, definitely fits well within it's genre of music. The beat is smooth, vocally not really strong but you don't expect that too much from hip hop type. Good song.
Based on your performance this week, I have decided that the person who will receive immunity is Hella! Congratulations. Now onto the results for the eviction.
Unfortunately with 46.2% of the votes, Sprts you have been eliminated.
Onto the judging of the remaining contestants
Nelson - Probably one of the most musically stunning pieces of our generation. This song has so much it in that even without words, you start to feel the tension and suspense build and after that final release, just float away
Presumed - The song musically is amazing, the lyrics are beautiful, but the vocals aren't as strong as the rest. But the lyrics and music seriously overpower the lacking of vocal power. Great song
Saaremaa - Vocals, one was good, one just feel flat (i don't think i need to clarify on who's) again another remake that tried to deviate from the original and make it a little more modern. But the vocals i think are a little bit too good for the song like it seems the background music is distracting and not really as good as the vocals.
Pepsi - Vocals were great, lyrics amazing, music really good. and everything mixes so well. This was a great choice on songs.
Tataki - Surprisingly Neil Patrick Harris can perform. Great vocals, good song and musically pretty good but Felicia Day brings the song down a little bit. Not as strong on the vocals as Neil.
Hatsuki - Beautiful Music, Beautiful Lyrics, and good voice. Although it is Celine Dion, I seriously don't think her voice does the rest of the song justice. But still a great song
Amylou - very uplifting song, musically and lyrically, vocals not as strong as the rest of the piece, but still overall really great song
Jawshii - A really good rock song, not too overbearing, not too quiet. I think it has a perfect balance. Vocally pretty good as well.
Pisces - Fun song, vocals good, music excellent, lyrics kinda funny lol. overall a great song and great performance.
Kris - Everything in this song WORKS. Musically amazing, lyrics amazing, and vocals stunning. Definitely a wonderful choice.
Lemon - A pretty good orchestral piece. Very flowy and constantly moving. It sort of feels like being on a tour through like a magical forest or a meadow.
Hotdog - The song musically is amazing, the lyrics are beautiful, but the vocals aren't as strong as the rest. But the lyrics and music seriously overpower the lacking of vocal power. Great song
The bottom 3 (in alphabetical order are) Hotdog, Presumed, and Saaremaa
Lemon – It’s very chill… there’s one instrument in there that just seems like it’s awkwardly placed that kinda distracted me from the rest of the piece. Definitely relaxing if it wasn’t for that instrument that after a while could seem a little irritating. I don’t know what instrument it is but it kinda like someone is trying to play a REALLY loose sting on a guitar.
Pepsi – Colbie’s voice definitely relaxing. The music is very chill. The only thing that kinda throws off the chill mood is the lyrics. It’s kinda about falling in love so if you aren’t in that stage it could be very distracting from the song. Overall good song.
Presumed – Yes I’ve been singing this song for caroling with my choir many times. IDK this song annoys me and the soloist being a soprano isn’t really relaxing it’s kinda awakening because it really hit inside the ear. It’s a very nice song, not really relaxing though.
Amylou – “Only Time” is probably one of the most well known songs yet very underrated. The music and voices are very relaxing. You can seriously just drift away with the music. Lyrics though once again not really that relaxing, a little depressing. The music is VERY relaxing though
Tataki – Dr. Who is in the house lol. Very nice song. It is relaxing in the quieter parts, The louder parts kinda awaken you from the trance the rest of the song puts you in. Overall the music is very nice and I feel like it’s a real perfect balance between the orchestra/band and the vocals. Very good song choice
Jawshii – Haha ohh Jessica Simpson’s first single. Again the music and her voice are very relaxing in during the refrains. The chorus’s though have a little bit to much power and it and awakens you a little bit from the trance. Also, as I’ve said for some others the subject matter of the song (being in love) kinda also makes the lyrics though off the relaxing atmosphere.
Sprts – Most of the music is relaxing but the keyboard noises in the background are a little bit painful and kinda stop the relaxing mood. Again subject matter also takes away from the relaxing atmosphere.
Nelson – Probably one of the most used pieces of music in relaxation techniques, obviously without the giant crescendos but those are easily dealt with. The sound of the orchestra simply just helps you drift away into a world where you can just relax. Excellent choice
Pisces – Music and voice is very chill. Although like I’ve said with a lot of these song choices, the topic of the song is not very relaxing. Jason Mraz’s voice sounds like a loud whisper so it’s very chill.
Saaremaa – Kinda reminds me of Greece’s Eurovision Entry from 2006. The music is very relaxing, her voice is a little to powerful to be really relaxing and again the lyrics of the song can be distracting from a peaceful mood.
Hatsuki – I love the music and voices are very relaxing (in the lower range). Again though subject matter comes into play with this song. Being that it is a religious song, it can be distracting from the rest of the piece.
Hotdog – yea rock music tends not to be too relaxing. Although it is an amazing piece the song has way to much power that might keep someone from really just letting loose and relaxing.
Kris – Michael’s voice is very relaxing. And the music is very relaxing. (I hate repeating myself lol) but the lyrics really can’t fully put you in a relaxing mode until you are feeling the same emotions. Although Michael does an AMAZING job at helping you feel the emotions he is feeling, it wears away after the song is over.
Braga and Hella_Sexi didn't do the challenge so they are automatically up for eviction. The 3rd nominee with them is Sprts. (vote to evict)
